Thermal Coatings Design Engineer (Finance)



As a Sr. Advanced Mech Design Engineer in Thermal Coatings here at Honeywell, you will develop and advance materials that are integral to our products. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager, and you'll work out of our Greer, SC location on a Hybrid work schedule.

In this role, you will impact the design and performance of advanced thermal barrier coatings and diffusion coatings, ensuring they meet the rigorous demands of aerospace applications while contributing to Honeywell's reputation for quality and innovation.As a Thermal Coatings Design Engineer here at Honeywell, you will lead a team of mechanical design engineers to develop high-quality products, manage timelines, budgets, and resources, and provide technical guidance. You will report directly to our Engineering Manager and you'll work out of our Greer, SC location on a Hybrid work schedule.YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as science, technology, engineering, mathematics.
  • 7+ years of experience in materials engineering, with a proven track record of materials development.
  • Proficiency in materials characterization, analysis, and testing.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with the ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment.
  • Experience with thermal barrier coating and diffusion coating technologies and their applications in aerospace.

  • Support supply chain diffusion and thermal barrier coating processes at Greer and across the supply base.
  • Participate in Coatings SP team as diffusion coating expert
  • Partner with Advanced Technology Coatings team in the advancement and implementation of diffusion and thermal barrier coating technologies for Honeywell Aero Products
  • Support product design as diffusion coatings and/or thermal barrier coating SME
    • Support design changes and drawing updates through ECN process
    • Supplier MESA support
    • Coatings process specification ownership
  • Lead coating material qualification projects.
  • Oversee the design, development, and testing of advanced thermal barrier coatings to meet the specific requirements of our aerospace products.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including R&D, product development, and manufacturing, to ensure seamless integration of materials into our products.
  • Conduct research and analysis to identify novel materials, processing techniques, and technologies for future applications.
