Senior Software Engineer - Camera Test Systems (Finance)

Job Description
The engineer in this position will be in charge of designing and building high-precision stereo endoscope test and calibration software as part of a diverse engineering team. This role is intended to work closely with the production manufacturing line to address any issues and propose upgrades. This position will focus on software development using C# that involves controlling electro-mechanical test systems (mechatronics).

Our test systems have extremely high-performance standards to calibrate and test endoscopes that are safe, reliable, and consistent. Responsibilities include everything from laying down the architecture and design, to leading the development, release, deployment, documentation, data analysis and sustaining of software and algorithms for test and calibration of the vision systems for Single Port da Vinci systems.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, release, deploy, and document software applications for test and calibration of endoscope vision systems from start to finish
  • Control motorized stages, sensors, safety systems and other devices as part of the overall test system
  • Coordinate with manufacturing engineers to support existing equipment on the production line
  • Develop and continuously improve manufacturing test and calibration systems for endoscopes and sub-systems: cameras, image sensors, illumination systems, etc.
  • Write and release clean fixture documentation such as specifications and qualification protocols
  • Perform analysis on manufacturing data to extract value and make data-driven decisions
Qualifications
Required Education, Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 8 years experience and a Bachelor's degree; or 6 years experience and a Master's degree; or PhD with 3 years experience; or equivalent experience
  • Software development experience in C# and Python
  • Hands-on experience debugging test systems, troubleshooting complicated opto-electronic and mechanical systems
  • Well-versed in debugging integrated hardware/software systems
  • Understanding of software development best practices such as OOP, OOD, design patterns and functional programming
  • Ability to effectively communicate and explain complex concepts to others
  • Ability to provide technical documentation for systems, software and algorithms you develop
  • Familiarity with physics, math, and statistics

Preferred Skills & Experience
  • Experience with cameras, image sensors, or image processing fundamentals
  • Experience developing robotic or electro-mechanical systems, including control systems
  • Industry experience in architecture and development of scalable production software systems
  • Experience in medical device manufacturing or a regulated engineering environment
  • Knowledge and experience with Matlab

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target salary ranges are listed.

Base Salary Range Region 1: $180,400 USD - $259,600 USD
Base Salary Range Region 2: $153,300 USD - $220,700 USD
