In-Flight Technician - Global 7500 / 5000 | KHIO (Transportation)



Position Summary

The In-Flight Technician role carries dual responsibility. As a maintenance technician and as an in-flight cabin service coordinator for the passengers and crew.

In this role, you will work in coordination with 1 other In-Flight Technician and the account DOM for the Global 7500 and the Global 5000.

 

  • Position: In-Flight Technician
  • Aircraft: Global 7500 & Global 5000
  • Position Type: Full-time only; no contract
  • Location: Hillsboro, OR (KHIO)
  • Operation:  91/135 (internal); approximately 350 to 400 hours annually
  • Compensation/Benefits: $170,000 - $200,000; fully paid medical/healthcare premium. 

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Performs maintenance and alteration of articles as directed.
  • Uses current, applicable technical data.
  • Adheres to all company and OSHA regulated policies and procedures.
  • Maintain proficiency with tools, techniques and acceptable practices used to perform maintenance and alteration duties.
  • Documenting all work performed including references to technical data used on work order squawk form and other forms as required.
  • Documenting all parts and/or equipment removed from or installed on aircraft on the removal and installation forms.
  • Ensuring material has been properly received prior to installing on aircraft.
  • Verify calibrated tooling calibration due date and condition prior to use.
  • Pre/Post Flight inspections: Performing thorough checks and scheduled Maintenance to confirm aircraft reediness and functionality before flights
  • Perform Scheduled and unscheduled Maintenance
  • Perform light-inflight service to Clients
  • Sets up and oversee daily tasks, facilitate to ground staff.
  • Stage and prepare aircraft with all amenities, literature, and specific requests. Ensure all stock is fresh, aircraft is clean, and diagrams are up to date.
  • Check all storage area including aircraft lockers and cages for organization and cleanliness.
  • Inventories and refreshes stock on the aircraft as required.
  • Travel is a fundamental part of this role, requiring significant time away from home and a variable schedule.
  • Able to travel away from primary facility for training and work.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

  • Strong Teamwork acumen with an exceptional ability to work well under pressure.
  • The ability to thrive in unfamiliar environments, adjust to changing schedules and handle unexpected situations is crucial for this position.
  • Role involves interacting with client, requiring excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Travel Expectations

Travel can be as high as 50% of work time. Travel may occur seven days per week with possible prolonged overnight stays in national and international locations. A current passport and other possible travel documentation may be required.

 

Required Education and Experience

  • Current FAA Airframe & Powerplant (A&P) License required.
  • Minimum of 2 years performing A&P technician duties, with proven ability to support maintenance on the road

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience on the Bombardier Global platform
  • AOG experience
  • Large Cabin In-flight service experience preferred.
