Rates & Regulatory Analyst I (Finance)

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Help analyze and interpret cost records to compute the costs of product or services (electric, gas, water, etc.).
  • Help prepare, submit, support and complete rate applications and reports for regulatory authorities.
  • Assist with detailed evaluations of projects using statistical data, company goals, competition and external factors.
  • Ensure that regulated tariffs meet the specifications of the regulatory environment (PSCW, MPUC, FERC, etc.).
  • Assist with forecasting and scheduling utility nominations for electric and gas distribution systems and customers.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining firm and interruptible contracts and agreements to ensure successful transfer of supply across relevant distribution systems.
  • Help ensure compliance with utility laws, regulations and industry standards.
  • Help research compliance issues and ensure appropriate policies and procedures are in place and being followed.
  • Collaborate with accounting, finance, customer service and operations teams to meet all regulatory requirements.
  • Help design and implement effective regulatory compliance processes while fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensure adequate internal review of regulatory filings.
  • Assist in the tracking and monitoring of regulatory changes and policies to assess their impact to the Company and prioritize compliance issues.

REQUIRED EDUCATION:
  • Bachelor's Degree required.
    • Degree in accounting, business administration, economics, mathematics or political science preferred

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
  • No experience required
    • One year utility sector experience preferred.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • This position will report regularly in person to Superior, WI
  • This position may be subject to assessment of skills, job match and/or aptitude.

COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS:
  • The expected annual compensation range for this position is $52,000 - $64,000. Compensation offered to the selected candidate will vary depending on relevant knowledge, skills, training, experience, and market conditions.
