Medical Coding Specialist I (General Surgery) - Administrative Office Building (Healthcare)

We are seeking a Medical Coding Specialist I to:
Education:
Minimum – High School diploma or equivalent and a graduate of or currently enrolled in a Medical Coding Program
Preferred - Associate degree in a healthcare related field
Work Experience:
Preferred - Prior experience working in a healthcare office setting
Licenses and Certifications:
Minimum - Certification as Certified Professional Coder Apprentice (CPC-A), Certified Professional Coder (CPC), Certified Outpatient Coder (COC), Certified Inpatient Coder (CIC), Certified Coding Specialist (CCS), Certified Coding Specialist Physician-Based (CCS-P), or a Certified Coding Associate (CCA) within one year of hire.
Preferred - Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT), Registered Health Information Administrator (RHIA)
Required Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
Physical Requirements:
Sedentary: Ability to lift up to 10 pounds maximum and occasionally lifting and/or carrying such articles as dockets, ledgers and small tools. Although a sedentary job is defined as one, which involves sitting, a certain amount of walking and standing is often necessary in carrying out job duties. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and other sedentary criteria are met.
Work Schedule:
This is a full-time, 1.0 FTE position that is scheduled to work flexible hours Monday through Friday. Hours may vary based upon the operational needs of the department.
