Pharmacy Intern - VFP - Onsite, MA (Finance)

Located in Waltham, MA, we are currently looking to add to our team of experienced Pharmacy Interns!

The VFP Pharmacy Group Pharmacy Intern under the supervision of a Pharmacist, is responsible for ensuring the correct and safe dispensing of prescription medications. The ideal candidate will possess strong skills in customer service, communication, and problem solving, and will exhibit excellent attention to detail, flexibility, and a willingness to learn and be a team player in our fast-paced, rewarding work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with picking, dispensing, packing and shipping medication orders
  • Managing patient and customer interactions via in person, phone and email (inbound and outbound telephonic responsibilities)
  • Performs duties as assigned and supervised by the pharmacist in accordance with VFP standard operating procedures for entering, third party processing, filling, and dispensing prescriptions.
  • Assists and supports the Pharmacy in inventory management activities, such as, ordering, unpacking, checking and storing shipment of pharmaceuticals and supplies.
  • Learn to provide the best patient experience through assisting the pharmacist and pharmacy team in accordance with state and federal regulations.
  • Complies with all company policies and procedures; maintains respectful relationships with coworkers.
  • Other pharmacy tasks as needed to ensure accuracy and a positive patient experience

Requirements
  • Must be available to work Monday through Friday, occasional holidays & rotating weekends. Shift will be between the hours of 9a - 7p, EST.
  • High School diploma or GED required
  • License required: Pharmacy Student Intern
  • 1+ years related work experience required
  • Must be a Doctor of Pharmacy student enrolled in an accredited college or university, OR a graduate of a non-approved school of pharmacy who meets the Massachusetts Board of Pharmacy requirements for registration
  • Experience with computer systems required, including web based applications and some Microsoft Office applications which may include Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint or Access.
