Long Term Care Administrator in Training (Project Management)



FRHS is looking for an Administrator in Training (AIT). This position is designed to prepare a future leader for licensure and a career as a Long-Term Care Administrator. This role provides structured, hands-on training under the direct supervision of a licensed Nursing Home Administrator (NHA). The AIT gains exposure to all aspects of long-term care facility management, including resident services, regulatory compliance, financial operations, staff leadership, and quality improvement.
Upon successful completion of the program and state licensure, the AIT may be considered for an Administrator role within the organization. This program reflects the organizations commitment to resident-centered care, regulatory excellence, and the development of future healthcare leaders.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Works under supervision of a licensed NHA; may assist with staff assignments and performance feedback.Observes and supports annual and as-needed employee reviews.Provides input on performance improvement and corrective actions under guidance.Manage staff by assigning and delegating tasks as neededParticipates in annual and as needed employee reviews. Provides constructive feedback on performance to meet organizational, personal and professional goalsAddresses performance issues and offers corrective action when necessary
Responsibilities:
Regulatory & Compliance
Participate in a state-approved AIT program under a licensed NHA.Learn and apply state and federal long-term care regulations.Assist with survey readiness and compliance monitoring.
Operations & Finance
Rotate through all departments (nursing, dietary, housekeeping, social services, admissions, finance, and activities).Gain experience in financial oversight, budgeting, and reimbursement processes.Support facility leadership in daily operations and decision-making.
Resident Care & Engagement
Observe and participate in resident/family care conferences.Support community relations and resident satisfaction initiatives.Promote a culture of safety, dignity, and respect.
Staff Development & Leadership
Assist in staff management, training, and performance improvement projects.Participate in quality assurance and performance improvement (QAPI) initiatives.Learn and apply conflict resolution, change management, and team-building skills.
Essential Skills and Core Competencies:
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Time management, organization, and problem-solving.
Knowledge of HR laws, Medicare/Medicaid reimbursement, and general accounting (A/R, A/P, budgets).
The average Salary for this position is $25.00 - $30.00 an hour, depending on years of experience.
