Network Administrator (Information Technology)



Job Summary:The Network Administrator is responsible for maintaining the day-to-day operation of computer networks within the organization. This includes installing, configuring, and supporting network hardware and software, monitoring network performance, and ensuring network security and connectivity.
Key Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain network equipment such as routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points

Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure reliable connectivity

Manage user access and permissions, ensuring data security and compliance with IT policies

Maintain network documentation and keep inventory of equipment

Perform regular system backups and ensure disaster recovery plans are in place

Collaborate with IT team and other departments to support technology needs

Keep up to date with new networking technologies and suggest improvements as needed

Qualifications:

Associate or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field

Proven experience as a network administrator or in a similar IT role

Strong knowledge of networking hardware and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN)

Familiarity with network security practices and tools

Relevant certifications (e.g., CompTIA Network+, Cisco CCNA) are a plus

Excellent problem-solving and communication skills
