PSSR_PARTS COUNTER (Sales)



POSITION SUMMARY: Develop new incremental service (shop and in-field repairs) and parts business by calling on current customers and developing new accounts within the assigned territory. Work with Sales Account Managers and attend unit deliveries to ensure customers are made aware of Birkeys aftermarket support services and review the general information and operations of the machine.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned:

  1. Call on customers, promoting a positive image of the company, selling the Companys products and service and resolving issues raised by customers.
  2. Develop and maintain regular contact with customers.
  3. Submit call reports, lost sales reports, etc. on a weekly basis to the Parts Manager and Store Management team.
  4. Maintain Company vehicle.
  5. Assure all documents associated with sales of goods and services are properly and totally completed.
  6. Update yourself daily on changes to the Companys and manufacturers terms, discounts and special programs of the products and services that the company has to offer.
  7. Attend any Company, store and community functions that will benefit the Dealership; visit with the customers.
  8. Keep current on product knowledge through bulletins and catalogues and by participating in training requirements as directed by the Parts Manager, and on benefits of specific machines.
  9. Keep abreast of competitive activity and competitive products.
  10. Take all leads for the sales of goods and / or services back to the Store manager and corresponding department manager.
  11. Promotes preventative maintenance service specials, educates customers on benefits of preventative maintenance.
  12. Set daily, weekly, monthly, and annual goals.
  13. Make necessary entries to inventory control systems assuring proper records are kept with current pricing as well as recording and entering of special orders.
  14. Assists in verifying cost, price, and totals of parts invoices and repair orders. Utilizes established procedures to properly track lost sales.
  15. Completes all required documentation in a prompt and thorough manner as required following established procedures.
  16. Sell Birkeys whole goods, parts and service 100% of the time.
  17. Maintain a safe working environment and adhere to company safety program at all times.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.

Education/Experience: Individual should have a high school or its equivalent. Should be able to set work priorities and work independently in the absence of supervision and be able to understand and carry-out oral and written directions. Must have the ability to maintain high degree of motivation in team members to retain focus of providing highest level of customer satisfaction.

The individual should have 2 4 years of related experience, steady work record, and must be able to perform each of the essential position functions.

  • Ability to get around the assigned territory, the dealership and grounds for various tasks.
  • The employee would normally lift or move 10 lbs., frequently lift or move up to 25 lbs. and occasionally lifts or move up to 100 lbs.
  • Ability to tolerate up and down movement with bending or stooping including reaching above and below shoulder height with arms and hands.
  • Ability to be on ones feet for extended periods of time.
  • Ability to operate equipment or other power equipment as necessary.
  • Ability to drive to a customer site.
  • Must meet health assessment requirements.
