Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, Gastroenterology - Internal Medicine, McGovern Medical School (Finance)
Under the direction of Dr. Brooks Cash, Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition, we are particularly interested in applicants with independent funding who are passionate about pursuing basic and translational research with a focus on disorders of gastrointestinal motility, the microbiome, and immune regulation of solid and hollow organs of the gastrointestinal tract.
Position Key Accountabilities:
Your research work experience and training will be directed towards studying gastrointestinal function in health and disease including, but not limited to, enteric neuromuscular function and homeostasis, host-biome interactions, and anti-inflammatory pathways and applying these pathways to define novel diagnostic and treatment approaches for different diseases. This will include a large array of molecular, cell biology, and immunologic approaches, combined with possible studies utilizing physiological animal models. You are expected to perform, troubleshoot, and succeed in pursuing such studies based on your previous training. There will be no patient care or patient contact.
