Logistics Associate (Administrative)

Essential Responsibilities

  • Coordinates and processes daily orders.
  • Receives incoming inventory as well as other items, logs and records them properly (including as applicable inspection/testing).
  • Coordinates pickup of outgoing shipments via common carriers.
  • Distributes incoming items to proper in-house department or logistics location.
  • Ensures rotation of stock following FIFO guidelines.
  • Repackages/labels all items leaving the service department.
  • Follows all logistics policies, processes and procedures.
  • Assists in training new employees and in providing ongoing training to existing ones.
  • Ensures that logistics is clean and well-organized and helps ensure daily checks of all logistics-related IT equipment occur.
  • Performs routine maintenance of building; supports light bulb replacement, minor repairs, painting, cleaning or other duties as needed.
  • Processes all returned equipment and delivers to service department decontamination room.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position is an individual contributor and has no direct supervisory responsibility.

Work Environment
This position operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.

Travel
This position requires no measurable travel.

Required Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education of any type is a definite plus.
  • 1-3 years' experience in materials management, shipping & receiving or other logistics functions required; strong preference for medical device or other regulated healthcare industry experience.
  • Must be able to operate and maintain certification for company forklift and cherry-picker device.
  • Safe driving record required.

Position Requirements

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • Must be highly organized and possess strong interpersonal skills.
  • Must be computer literate with strong preference for those that have MS Office experience as well as familiarity with shipping/receiving and inventory control systems.
  • Must be deadline-oriented and work well with other departments in a high volume environment.
