Safety Manager (Administrative)



JOB DESCRIPTION
Job Name: Safety Manager
Reports to: Vice President of Business Operations
Classification: Full time / Exempt
Job Summary:
The Safety Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and environmental health programs to ensure a safe working environment at the envelope and printing manufacturing facility. This role is accountable for compliance with OSHA, EPA, and other applicable regulations, as well as promoting a strong safety culture across all levels of the organization.

Duties/Responsibilities:
· Develop and implement safety programs, policies, and procedures that comply with federal, state, and local regulations.
· Lead facility safety audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations; identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
· Coordinate and conduct safety training programs for employees, including new hire orientations and ongoing training sessions.
· Maintain and track safety-related documentation, including OSHA logs, incident reports, and training records.
· Ensure proper handling, storage, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with environmental regulations.
· Serve as the primary contact for safety-related issues and regulatory inspections.
· Collaborate with plant leadership, supervisors, and employees to foster a proactive safety culture.
· Lead the facility's Safety Committee and drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
· Monitor and report safety performance metrics; recommend and implement improvements.
· Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry best practices and regulatory changes.
Education and Experience:
· Bachelor's degree in occupational safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Engineering, or related field preferred.
· 5+ years of experience in manufacturing safety role, preferably in printing or paper converting environments.
· Strong knowledge of OSHA, EPA, and other relevant safety regulations.
· Certifications such as CSP, ASP, or equivalent are a plus.
· Proven ability to conduct training and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
· Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
· Ability to lead safety initiatives and work collaboratively across departments.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software.

Physical Requirements: (Example Below)
· The position requires regular walking through the manufacturing facility, occasional lifting of up to 25 pounds, and the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
· Must be able to respond quickly to emergencies and spend extended periods on the production floor.
