Job Overview:

The Assistant Controller plays a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of the organization, assisting in GAAP accounting, financial reporting, budgeting, and internal controls. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong analytical skills and a deep understanding of accounting principles.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Financial Operations & Reporting

  • Support the global month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close processes, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and compliance with US GAAP.
  • Assist in managing global accounting operations, including consolidations, intercompany transactions, and technical accounting matters.
  • Collaborate with regional teams and operations finance to ensure alignment and consistency in accounting practices.
  • Assist in the preparation of consolidated financial statements and external reporting deliverables
  • Drive external audit process.
  • Integration of newly acquired businesses with respect to accounting policy, ERP optimization, consolidation.

Internal Controls & Compliance

  • Building upon the existing internal control framework to ensure all critical business processes are documented from a design and implementation standpoint.
  • Evaluate internal control framework for best practice, needs for public company readiness.
  • Resolution of identified control deficiencies and implementation of corrective actions.

Technical Accounting & Special Projects

  • Assistance with the due diligence of potential acquisitions, purchase accounting, and other project related activities.
  • Draft technical accounting memos to document and support accounting conclusions in accordance with US GAAP.

Transformation & Process Improvement

  • Partner with the VP Finance to lead the transformation of the global controllership function.
  • Identify and implement process improvements, automation opportunities, and best practices across regions (Simplify, Optimize, Standardize).

Team Leadership & Collaboration

  • Mentor and develop junior team members, fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence.
  • Partner with operations finance, treasury and other functions to design a framework to ensure the Company will progress it's business processes and finance capabilities to public company readiness.

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance roles, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or managerial position.
  • Thorough understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting requirements.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience with SAP or another comparable ERP preferred.
  • Big 4 accounting experience preferred.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting.
