  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, Technology, Business or related field.
  • Minimum ten years relevant experience in a manufacturing environment; three of those at an executive management level overseeing a multi-location business unit.
  • Employees must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Verification of employment eligibility will be required at the time of hire. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • MBA
  • Business development experience.
  • P & L responsibility of a similar size or larger business unit along with extensive knowledge of operations management principles and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience in a precision machine shop environment.
  • Strong leadership skills, including coaching, team building and solid conflict management ability.
  • Experience developing and executing short and long-term business plans.
  • Excellent organizational and planning skills along with strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Strong initiative, ability to prioritize and multi-task.
  • Strong work ethic, goal-oriented with the ability to lead others in obtaining results.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and interact with all levels of employees, senior management as well as external customers, vendors and other outside parties.
  • Demonstrated ability performing problem analysis and resolution at both the strategic and functional level.
  • Working knowledge of the major elements of an ERP system.
  • Proficient PC skills in a Windows environment.
  • Experience working within a high-level quality environment, AS9100 preferred.
  • High level written, verbal and presentation skills including the ability to present ideas, influence, negotiate and persuade effectively.
Position Summary:

This position is responsible for leading and overseeing all activities of a multi-location business division. It leads the business unit management team in establishing and accomplishing their annual goals and objectives. The position is responsible for the effective implementation and execution of plans that direct the growth of the business unit to achieve both their long-term and short-range operating and financial goals and objectives. This position is measured on both financial and non-financial indicators directly related to safety, profitability, quality, on-time delivery, customer satisfaction and employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leads the business unit with a broad-based and relevant vision and with principle-centered values, a philosophy, with commensurate behaviors that are well understood, widely supported, consistently applied, and effectively implemented. Aligns, empowers, and mentors direct reports to meet business objectives.
  • Leads the development of a long-term vision and strategy for the business unit that establishes objectives, and implementation plans that satisfies the needs of customers, shareholders, employees, communities, and all other corporate stakeholders. Ensures consistent and timely progress toward strategic objectives. Obtains and allocates resources effectively and consistent with strategic objectives. Takes advantage appropriately of emerging opportunities.
  • Lead the business unit management team in establishing and accomplishing their annual goals and objectives including providing direction, coaching and mentoring, staff development and performance management, ensuring they meet their commitments. Oversees and reviews operating results of the organization, compares them to established objectives and takes steps to ensure that appropriate measures are taken to correct unsatisfactory results. Develop operating plans and budgets including capital equipment purchases.
  • Build and facilitate the development of strong relationships and synergies with all stakeholders of the company, including employees, key customers, suppliers and technical partners and corporate in order to achieve the business unit goals and objectives.
  • Ensure Lean and continuous improvement philosophies and actions are driven throughout the business unit.
  • Ensures that appropriate systems are maintained to protect assets and maintain effective control of operations.
  • Active participation in employee Health and Safety management, including hands on approach to implementing and maintaining a Safety Environmental Management System consistent with the company guidelines.
  • Ensure the appropriate quality systems are maintained and enhanced consistent with industry and customer requirements.
  • Stimulates high levels of performance, while strengthening a value-driven people culture. Continues to build a corporate culture based on the worth and contribution of the individual, and espouses care, trust and accountability within the organization
  • Ensures the development of effective human resources practices - recruitment, training, retention and communication plans to motivate the necessary human resources to achieve objectives. Ensures equal opportunity employment practices are utilized effectively.
  • Present monthly progress reports to corporate leadership, the business unit management team, and employees showing performance against established Key Performance Indicators. Primary corporate interface
  • Prepare and conduct with executive management, a quarterly business review based on established key performance indicators, and as necessary implement, change and monitor business conditions to insure obtainment of minimum goals.
  • Monitor and confirm organizational adherence to applicable laws and regulations along with company programs, policies and procedures.
  • Ensures adequate people development plans and capable succession plans are in place.
