Program Coordinator, Houston Reconnect (Education)
Job Summary
Provides administrative oversight for the outreach, implementation, and management functions for the Houston Reconnect Program district-wide. Collaborate with College Student Services staff to ensure students of the program receive the appropriate support and warp around services to ensure completion of the students' educational goal of a certificate or associate degree.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist with planning, organizing, developing and facilitating of orientations, open houses, support services and recruitment for the Houston Reconnect program in collaboration with the colleges.
Assist with the formation of partnerships with business, industry, community agencies, state and federal agencies to meet the needs of the program.
Gather and maintain data to assist in preparing reports and statistics, by semester, on program participation, success and completion rates, academic support services provided, wrap around services, scholarship funds budget, and results from student feedback surveys.
Develop and maintain in-depth knowledge of a diverse and broad range of basic needs programs, services, resources and relevant guidelines to ensure student access to services. Communicate appropriate policies and eligibility criteria to diverse constituencies.
Conduct individualized, solution-focused assessment, develop recommendations, and serve as centralized point-of-contact to facilitate students' access to campus and community-based resources.
Collaborate with the College Student Services staff to provide follow-up with students to include email reminders, phone calls, and other means of contact to identify program outcomes.
Ensure eligible students are assigned immediately to the appropriate College COE advisor to provide on-campus direct support as needed for student success.
Verify student eligibility, assist students with ApplyTexas and FAFSA applications and handle registration forms for program enrollment.
Collaborate and assist in the identification of potential community-based resources that can be a source of support for students in the program.
Keep current on trends, compliance issues, regulations and guidelines regarding subject matter; advise supervisor accordingly.
Attend on/off campus events as the key representative of the program.
Monitor progress of all community partners, prepare reports and evaluations of activities as required.
Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education & Experience
· Bachelor's degree required
· Master's degree preferred
· 4 years' experience in student retention, training, teaching, project management, program development and implementation, program sustainment required
· Higher education experience preferred
Licensing & Certification
· Valid Texas Driver License

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
