JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the maintenance of a networked computer system including installation of physical and virtual hardware, software, and peripheral equipment; website maintenance for the Circuit County Clerks Office; Exchange configuration maintenance; and oversight of the disaster recovery site.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Researches user requests for business systems; analyzes system requirements and develops project specifications. Designs and develops file structures to satisfy program requirements. Installs, configures, and maintains virtualized server environments.Tests software and upgrades; write technical documentation.Runs reports as required by the department.Oversees replication of data between main facility and disaster recovery site.Monitors system performance and evaluates the results to ensure efficient hardware and software interface.Administers Exchange and Exchange 365 email systems for Circuit County Clerk's Office and Circuit Court Offices; ensures security software is maintained.Sets up users in the email system creating and disabling mailboxes as needed.Ensures virus software is scanning all computers; audits each pc to ensure most current virus protection software is in place.Installs, configures, and maintains SAN and NAS storage systems.Installs, configures, and maintains Active Directory.Makes recommendations regarding desktop hardware and software allocation for Circuit County Clerk.Makes recommendations regarding desktop hardware and software acquisition for Circuit County Clerk and Circuit Court.Installs telephone networking for use during major elections.Completes annual inventory of Circuit County Clerk equipment and other property.Processes damaged or unused equipment and property for disposal through Pulaski County's surplus sales.Sets up and configures Contexte accounts for Circuit County Clerk staff and third parties.Provides desktop support for approximately 310 PCs used by 270 Circuit County Clerk and Circuit Court employees across four locations, in-person, by telephone, and by remote connection.Configures, monitors, and troubleshoots server hardware and software for the Circuit County Clerk and Circuit Court across two locations.Configures, monitors, and troubleshoots network hardware for the Circuit/County Clerk and Circuit Court across four locations.Configures, installs, maintains, and repairs peripherals, including printers and scanners for Circuit/County Clerk and Circuit Court.Installs, configures, and updates software packages for Circuit/County Clerk and Circuit Court.Installs and directs installation of PC operating system and software updates and patches.Configures and troubleshoots user accounts and security groups.Installs server hardware and software updates and patches to ensure functionality and security.Develops and implements network security plan to maintain file and functional security of Circuit/County Clerk and Circuit Court computer systems.Develops and maintains relationships with the technical staff of vendors and other agencies in support of software and hardware resources provided by or shared with those vendors and agencies.Works with Circuit County Clerk administrative staff to develop and maintain continuity of operations and disaster recovery plans.Maintains server, desktop, and network infrastructure at Circuit County Clerk Disaster Recovery Center.Installs, maintains, and troubleshoots closed-circuit security camera system hardware and software.Provides technical assistance to Chief Deputy in meeting FOIA requests.Maintains Circuit County Clerk equipment inventory.Maintains service agreements and contracts for Circuit County Clerk and Circuit Court hardware and software.Remains current in changing technology through communication with vendors, research in trade journals, and attendance at relevant industry seminars.Ensures that licensing requirements are met for all purchased software.Ensures backup and replication of network data.

WORKING CONDITIONS: Work is performed in a smoking-restricted office environment. Duties are performed at various offices. Position may work overtime and be required to remain on-call as necessary. Position may be exposed to a dusty or dirty environment on occasion.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
REQUIRED SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, AND ABILITIES:

Extensive knowledge of hardware, software, and networking principles and technologies.Extensive knowledge of the maintenance and repair of information technology systems.Considerable knowledge of virtualized server environments and their operation.Considerable knowledge of SAN and NAS storage systemsAbility to communicate effectively in writing.Ability to analyze information technology needs to determine appropriate operational procedures and hardware/software purchases.Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with judges, court personnel, vendors, coworkers, system users, and the general public.Ability to install and integrate server and PC system upgrades, software and updates, and hardware.Ability to analyze logic utilized within software programs and operating systems.Ability to provide excellent customer service.Ability to remain on-call to provide user support as needed.Ability to maintain discretion regarding privileged information.Ability to attend work regularly and reliably.Skill in the operation of a computer.Skill in the operation of a motor vehicle.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Digital dexterity is sufficient for the operation of a keyboard and mouse.Visual acuity is sufficient for normal office activities, including the use of a PC.Ability to communicate orally effectively in person and by telephone. Ability to lift and carry loads up to 30 pounds.Ability to bend, stoop, crouch, or kneel in the installation of equipment.Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.Ability to concentrate for long periods of time.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Completion of college-level or business school coursework in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field; considerable work experience with the maintenance and operation of a networked computer system; or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required skills, knowledge, and abilities.
