Infrastructure Manager (Information Technology)

Colorado PERA's Information Technology team is expanding, and we're looking for talented individuals to join us! We have an immediate opening for a hands-on Infrastructure Manager II who can manage and develop a team of direct reports focusing on system and storage virtualization, backups and disaster recovery, and application development team support in DevOps and automation. You will be the go-to person for initiative prioritization with your team members ensuring regular feedback and communication on expectations and deliverables.
Essential Functions
Lead the delivery, stability, and continuous improvement of PERA's core infrastructure services, ensuring alignment with business and IT objectives
Establish and maintain a clear, documented prioritization framework for infrastructure initiatives to ensure resources are directed toward the highest-value work
Manage and support core infrastructure technologies, including server, storage, and endpoint virtualization; backups and disaster recovery; core applications; automation; and integrations with partner systems
Coordinate with leadership to prioritize initiatives and oversee team deliverables
Recruit, train, coach, and mentor team members to build a high performing, engaged workforce providing strategic guidance and support for complex decision-making
Key Responsibilities
Advanced knowledge of IT infrastructure environments (e.g. operating system, hardware, data center, security, network, end user and server/web related applications) considering security implications in all initiatives
Experience with hardware virtualization using VMware, Storage Area Networks (SAN), backup and recovery with Veeam, disaster recovery design and planning utilizing VMware, SAN, and Veeam tooling, and supporting infrastructure needs of DevOps teams
Working with the infrastructure team and management to maintain a prioritized Portfolio of Projects, operational tasks, and improvements

Job Description
This position is responsible for ensuring the delivery, stability, and continuous improvement of PERA's core technical infrastructure and services. The role leads a team of technical staff and collaborates with stakeholders, systems engineers, technical leaders, and vendor partners to deliver resilient, innovative technology solutions while protecting the integrity of services, data, and infrastructure. Responsibilities include organizing and leading infrastructure projects, building team capabilities, and providing leadership across core technologies such as server, storage, and endpoint virtualization; backups and disaster recovery; core applications; application development support; automation; and partner system integrations.

Organize, manage, and oversee infrastructure projects from planning through implementation, ensuring quality, timeliness, and alignment with organizational goals
Provide leadership, guidance, and coaching to technical staff, building depth of skills and fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement
Manage and support core infrastructure technologies, including server, storage, and endpoint virtualization; backups and disaster recovery; core applications; automation; and integrations with partner systems
Collaborate with stakeholders, systems engineers, technical leaders, and vendor partners to deliver resilient and innovative technology solutions
Ensure the integrity, security, and compliance of infrastructure services, data, and systems in accordance with internal policies and cybersecurity best practices
Monitor infrastructure performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement solutions to increase reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
Partner with cross-functional teams to support application development, investment technology, and enterprise initiatives
Perform other duties as assigned
Degree in technical (STEM) field and seven years' experience in technical role preferred, or equivalent combination of education and experience
Three years' experience of supervisory/managing in an IT environment preferred
Advanced knowledge of IT infrastructure environments (e.g. operating system, hardware, data center, security, network, end user and server/web related applications) considering security implications in all initiatives
Experience with hardware virtualization using VMware, Storage Area Networks, and fiber channel connectivity
Experience managing data center maintenance, backups using Veeam, disaster recovery planning, execution, and automation
Experience and exposure to DevOps infrastructure needs, automation, and monitoring
Excellent analytical, interpersonal, oral, and writing skills
Demonstrated ability to lead teams and individuals working on multiple concurrent projects
Demonstrated ability to plan, organize, create, and prioritize work with minimal supervision
Standard office environment with frequent telephone communication, computer operation, and other office productivity machinery, such as a copy and printer machine.
Occasional moving and positioning supplies in excess of 20 pounds
All employees are expected to present themselves in a professional manner in alignment with the financial services industry
Ability to sit for prolonged periods of time
Ability to operate standard PC equipment
Ability to handle stress associated with frequent deadline and tight schedules
Occasional Travel
Required occasional on-call assistance outside of normal business hours
