Pharmacy Benefits Consultant (Healthcare)

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Pharmacy Benefits Consultant who can provide strategic guidance and consulting service to clients across various markets and industries. The Consultant will step immediately into a critical role that includes directly consulting with clients in collaboration with our pharmacy benefits consulting practice within a privately-owned, growth-oriented professional services firm.

Potential projects may include management and evaluation of PBM RFPs, initiating and managing PBM contract market checks, validating discount and rebate guarantees against PBM contracts, negotiating and advising on non-legal PBM contract language, and advising on strategic optimization of discounts and rebate terms.

Responsibilities:
• Perform as the lead or co-lead on client assignments and manage PBM-related client projects and service delivery initiatives (e.g., proposals, audits, negotiations, contract reviews, etc.).
• Provide technical review and analysis of PBM data, contracts, financial arrangements and PBM program effectiveness.
• Interacting and building consultative rapport with Segal client relationship managers and technical analysts in the region as well as national pharmacy staff.
• Supporting the growth of Segal's pharmacy consulting business by working with others to identify and cultivate existing and new client opportunities and assisting with sales and marketing initiatives, including proposal writing.
• Identify new and innovative opportunities for our clients to better manage costs, utilization, and clinical outcomes.
• Design and deliver creative pharmacy benefit client solutions and plan designs.
• Create tools and approaches to quality assure and measure the effectiveness of PBM and Healthcare company cost and utilization management programs and clinical services.
• Develop innovative techniques, tools, services to enhance value to our clients and Segal.



Qualifications:
• A minimum of 9 years of experience preferably within a PBM and/or benefits consulting environment providing technical review and analysis of PBM data, contracts, financial arrangements and PBM program effectiveness.
• In-depth knowledge of PBM providers, products, services, financial, data reporting, contracting, and negotiating elements and processes.
• Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) or RPh degree preferred.
• Strong technical/analytical and problem solving skills to address complex client-oriented problems.
• Effective communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with an understanding of the value of collaboration.
• Demonstrated project management abilities with an ability to prioritize and oversee multiple projects in a demanding work environment.
• Self-starter with excellent communication and negotiation skills and demonstrated experience handling multiple projects and assignments in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

The current salary range for this position is $124,500-$165,000 plus opportunity for a discretionary performance bonus based on company profitability and employee performance.
