Food Safety & Quality Project Specialist (Biotech)
Ensure work areas are safe from hazards, participate in safety discussions, weekly safety talks and follow safety practices and policies.
Helps promote a safe workplace through observation, action and participation. Actively communicates with peers to promote a safe work environment.
Project Planning and Execution:
Develop detailed project plans, timelines, and resource allocation for food safety initiatives, including but not limited to facility upgrades, new equipment implementation, process improvements, and regulatory compliance projects.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Operations, Research & Development, Engineering, and other relevant departments to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables.
Risk Assessment and Mitigation:
Participate in hazard analysis and critical control points (HACCP) teams and
Contribute to the identification, evaluation, and mitigation of food safety risks within projects.
Regulatory Compliance:
Stay up to date on relevant federal, state, and local food safety regulations (e.g., FSMA, FDA, USDA) and
Ensure project activities align with these requirements.
Documentation and Reporting:
Develop and maintain comprehensive project documentation, including plans, progress reports, risk assessments, and post-implementation reviews.
Prepare clear and concise reports for management on project status and outcomes.
Training and Implementation Support:
Assist in the development and delivery of food safety training materials and
Provide support during the implementation of new food safety programs and procedures related to projects.
Problem Solving and Continuous Improvement:
Identify and analyze food safety-related project challenges, develop effective solutions, and
contribute to the continuous improvement of our food safety systems and project management processes
