Parts Utility (Sorting) (Finance)



Summary The Utility Sorting position supports production operations by handling, organizing, and inspecting materials. This role requires attention to detail, physical stamina, and adherence to safety protocols to ensure smooth material flow and defect identification across departments. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Sort, inspect, and handle parts and materials as instructed Operate machinery to assist with sorting or processing tasks Use hand tools or basic equipment as needed for packaging and material movement Load and unload items by hand from racks, pallets, bins, or containers Maintain cleanliness of work areas and remove debris, shavings, and scrap Record material counts and assists in accurate documentation Follow safety policies and PPE requirements Communicate clearly with supervisors and team members Uphold Positronic's standards of integrity, quality, and operational excellence. Identify hazards in the workplace and report them to management and/or the safety coordinator. Collaborate with the EHS department to meet local, state, and federal regulatory requirements, including OSHA, NFPA, DNR, EPA, and Amphenol sustainability practices. Work with the Quality department to ensure compliance with AS9100 certification standards. Comply with all company policies and procedures. Perform other duties as assigned. Requirements Education and Experience High school diploma or equivalent 1 to 3 months of related experience or training Physical Constant handling of boxes, bins, and small parts Frequent reaching and use of hands/arms to operate tools or machines Occasional bending, kneeling, and lifting of objects up to 50 lbs. Prolonged periods of standing and walking in a production setting Working Conditions Work is performed in a production environment with exposure to high noise levels, fumes, and chemicals, PPE such as nitrile gloves and safety glasses are required as necessary. Competencies Knowledge Knowledge of part identification and handling techniques. Understanding of production support roles and basic inspection processes. Familiarity with safety and PPE practices. Skills High attention to detail when sorting and organizing small parts. Ability to document and count materials accurately. Effective verbal and written communication. Abilities Manual dexterity and fine motor skills. Physical stamina for frequent lifting, bending, and handling. Visual accuracy to inspect and sort small or defective parts.
