What you will do 

The successful candidate will work closely with the research and portfolio management teams to formulate the mortgage credit strategy, evaluate credit risk and monitor the RMBS portfolio. The successful candidate will be responsible for analyzing collateral, reviewing documentation packages and communicating with internal and external counterparties to assess and present the credit risk of RMBS investments.

What you can expect 

  • Collaborate with members of the mortgage credit research team to underwrite public and private RMBS investment opportunities

  • Analyze mortgage collateral and assess risk by conducting stress testing and scenario analysis

  • Monitor existing positions and identify trading opportunities

  • Participate in issuer due diligence calls, roadshow meetings, and on-site due diligence trips

  • Develop and support existing models and visualization tools utilizing various programming languages and technology

  • Provide support for presentations to prospective and existing clients

  • Present investment opportunities to Structured Product RMBS portfolio management and trading teams

  • Assist in reviewing deal documents

  • Contribute to ESG reviews and help determine the proprietary ESG Impact score

What you will bring 

  • BA/BS degree (MBA, MS and/or CFA are pluses)

  • Candidate should have 4+ years of experience in RMBS markets

  • Strong understanding of fixed income valuation methods and risk measures

  • Strong technical background - knowledge of SQL, Python or Tableau a plus

  • Familiarity with generating collateral performance assumptions, evaluating credit risk and/or negotiating deal terms

  • Familiarity with RMBS issuers, intermediaries, and investors

  • Works well as part of a team and enjoys a fast paced, high intensity environment

  • Possesses strong communication and presentation skills

  • Possesses strong attention to detail

Note: Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The annual base salary range for this role is from $135,000 to $145,000. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
