Inside Sales Engineer– Electric Power Generation and Power Quality (Finance)



PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for identifying and pricing EPG Sales and Power Quality opportunities. Provide primary development functions for all sales quotations and bid proposals for the Electric Power Generation and Power Quality Markets.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Customer point of contact for all quotation and bid requests for EPG Sales.
  • Support contact for design engineers and consultants. Provide budget pricing and technical data as required.
  • Primary vendor contact.
  • Research and identify scope and depth of sales opportunities in the spec, bid, buy market though use of online planrooms, customer ftp sites or via customer contact.
  • Work with Sales Engineers to increase awareness level of opportunities in territory.
  • Maintain EPG Bid Calendar in Outlook.
  • Acquire specifications, drawings, and addenda for all sales opportunities. Ensure that all proposals are based on the most recent revisions of the design documents.
  • Ensure that all proposals meet the requirements of the engineered design documents.
  • Prepare all sales quotations and bid proposals and assist in submission to bidding contractors or customers.
  • Maintain EPG Quote Log
  • Verify that all project costs and vendor quotes are accurate and complete for all new sales orders
  • Prepare EPG Initial Project Form and organize project folder for all new sales projects.
  • Review new projects with Project Management Team prior to project handoff.
  • Work with Project Managers to check new factory order acknowledgements for accuracy and ensure that pricing and discounts are correct.
  • Work with Project Management Team to maintain project schedule and profitability.

UNIQUE DEPT. DUTIES

  • Assist with Sales and Revenue tracking metrics. Assist in preparation of reports for EPG Business Manager.
  • Work directly with EPG Business Manager to support targeted customer accounts
  • Work directly with EPG Business Manager to develop pricing strategy
  • Attend pre-bid meetings as required.
  • Ensure all product sales literature is current
  • Track all product updates and pricing adjustments
  • Maintain vendor relationships to ensure that we receive the best possible pricing.
  • Support Power Quality Sales Account Manager by fielding information and quotation requests.
  • Support EPG Service Product Support Representatives by providing technical data and product pricing data.
  • Primary AutoCAD operator.
  • Maintain proficiency with PC based sales tools, AutoCAD, and other tools designed to enhance personal and departmental efficiency

MINIMUM REQUIRMENTS:

Education:

Minimum four-year college degree, preferably in a technical field (electrical/mechanical engineering) with related work experience.

Work Experience:

Minimum five years of experience in technical sales, office management, or in similar sales environment with direct accountability.

Physical:

Ability to travel periodically, with overnight stays. Must be able to stand, stoop and climb for on-site inspections

Other:

Valid driver's license with acceptable driving record. Possess knowledge of or quickly learns CAT engines and related equipment. PC exposure and operations required for Microsoft Word, Excel, and Access. Excellent customer service skills.
