Materials Manager (Engineering)
To support our extraordinary teams who build great products and contribute to our growth, we're looking to add a Materials Manager located in Columbia SC.
Reporting to the Director of Materials. The Materials Manager Directs, and coordinates activities of personnel engaged in some or all of the following areas: material planning, distribution, inventory control, material research, purchasing and supply chain management by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.
What a typical day looks like:
Coordinate the planning activities across the site.
Manages, controls, and directs the activities and staff involved in the distribution of inventory to the production line.
Manages, controls, and directs staff to achieve Materials profit and loss goals including minimization of excess and obsolete inventory.
Ensures the timely delivery of materials at the most economical cost, consistent with quality standards, affecting quality by assuring that suspicious material is identified, and that material is handled, stored, and delivered properly.
Ensures a high degree of customer satisfaction through negotiations of customer expectations and managing and directing staff activities required to meet this expectation.
Coordinates with customers, purchasing, project managers, operations managers, and warehouse managers.
In charge of accurate inventory cycle counts, and controls.
Provides for the proper shipping and documentation of finished goods.
Develops, implements, and maintains policies, procedures and material control systems.
Reviews, plans, and approves purchase orders and change notices.
Reviews purchase order claims and contracts for conformance to company policy.
In charge of disposition of excess and obsolete materials.
Manage End to End Material processes for assigned customers (forecast through shipments)
Manage CTB / Procurement Actions in order to meet Financial commitments
Collaborate Cross Functionally on Customer accounts to ensure Customer Satisfaction targets are set
Internal and External Customer reporting on assigned accounts (will fall in multiple functional areas)
Monitor and drive WIP DOS aging improvement
Monitor and drive Work Order aging improvements
Ensure Non-Nettable aging is not aging
Facilitate people and or process change in support of timely material flow
Manage cross functional team (Master Schedulers, Supply Chain, Production planners) on assigned accounts
Special Projects, SGA/Kaizen support
Travel as required.
The experience we're looking to add to our team,
Bachelor's degree
5 - 7 years of material and manufacturing experience, including supervision
Knowledge of the MS Office (Excel, Word)
Leadership previous experience
Tableau Charts
