Journeyman Electrician (Construction)

SUMMARY:  The position of Journeyman - Electrician is to aid in the construction of electrical projects. This position will work closely with our Service department to ensure projects are completed in a safe, timely fashion. This is a union position. The pay structure and benefits are determined by the union.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Establish production goals and audit progress ensuring work is completed within schedule and budget expectations.
• Manage the planning and execution of projects and contracts by organizing work methods and developing schedules.
• Manage and oversee the delivery and use of equipment and materials according to customer specifications and contract requirements.
• Manage training and development of workforce through Baker Electric training and development programs.
• Ensure work is performed in compliance with safe work methods and procedures.
• Oversee workforce at all assigned jobs/projects.
• Manage quality control functions.
• Strong communication, organizational, and people skills are required.
• Able to recognize and develop the workforce with a strong focus on safety and completing projects within scheduled timeframe.
• Availability for overnight travel.

 

 EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:

• California Electrical Certification
• Successful completion of Apprenticeship program with local IBEW
• CAL-OSHA 30 Certification
• First Aid / Adult CPR certification
• Valid California Driver's License
