Adjunct Faculty – Rural Health Clerkship Director (Finance)

The Health Affairs at the newly established Tilman J. Fertitta Family College of Medicine at the University of Houston is inviting applications for the position of part-time, non-tenure track, Adjunct Faculty for the Rural Health Clerkship.

This non-tenure track faculty physician position will contribute to the educational mission of UH College of Medicine through development of the curriculum for the rural health clerkship and oversight of the student experience. Specific duties include the following:

Primary Responsibilities

Educational Mission
• Review and refine the curriculum of the rural health clerkship
• Update the medical education program objectives associated with the rural health clerkship.
• Review and refine the required clinical experiences
• Review and refine the components of the student evaluation for grading of the rural health clerkship
• Complete evaluation of student performance and provide feedback to the students.
• Recruit additional clinical sites and clinicians for the rural health clerkship
• Correspond with the clinical sites and on-site medical staff throughout the student experience.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:
• Medical Licensure in the State of Texas
• Medical degree from an accredited allopathic or osteopathic college of medicine
• Board certification or board eligibility in Internal Medicine, Family Medicine, Pediatrics, Surgery, or Obstetrics
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience teaching medical students and residents
• Experience contributing to quality improvement projects
• Bi-lingual in Spanish, Vietnamese, Arabic, or Chinese

Salary commensurate with academic achievements and experience.
