What is the required shift?

Rotating shift between 1st, 2nd and 3rd shift (must be available for all three)

  • Week One: 1st shift 7 days in a row (Mon-Fri: 7A-3:30P; Sat-Sun 7A-7:30P)
  • Week Two: 2nd shift 5 days in a row (Mon-Fri: 3P-11:30P)
  • Week Three: 3rd shift 7 days in a row (Mon-Fri: 11P- 7:30A; Sat/Sun 7P-7:30A)
  • Week Four: OFF 5 days in a row

What is the Job Purpose?
The Shift Technical Lead is responsible for efficient, safe, and reliable leadership of their shift maintenance team. They will indirectly manage, plan, maintain, and troubleshoot the site's manufacturing equipment, utilities equipment, and factory infrastructure while directing and training the shift Maintenance Technicians.As required, escalate issues to the responsible Associate Technical Manager in accordance with escalation protocol. Initiate Breakdown Analysis when triggers are reached.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Requirements:

  • High school diploma, GED or higher
  • 3+ years of maintenance technician related experience within a mechanical and electrical discipline
  • Electrical understanding (EX: AC/DC Electrical (up to 480VAC 3 Phase), etc)
  • Mechanical systems understanding (EX: Hydraulic and Pneumatic systems, etc)
  • Previous experience developing and coaching peers

Physical Requirements:

  • Frequent lifting/carrying (10-50 lbs.) and pushing/pulling (50-200 lbs.)
  • Frequent handling/gripping/bending/stooping.
  • Ability to work at elevated heights off a ladder or platform, climb stairs, leaning over equipment.
  • Ability to stand and / or work on feet for extended periods (minimum 8 hours/ shift).
  • Ability to work in varies manufacturing environments and non-temperature-controlled rooms.
  • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Technical/Trade Certification or technical degree
  • Industrial electrical experience
  • 5+ years of experience maintaining and troubleshooting process and packaging systems in a manufacturing environment
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • PLC/Instrumentation troubleshooting skills

What will be my Key Responsibilities?

  • Assist technicians to troubleshoot, repair, replace and calibrate electrical sensing devices and instrumentation:Photoelectric, inductive, capacitive, pressure, temperature, weight, position sensors, flow, and analytical instruments, 480V electrical power, instrumentation, motor controls, VFD's, Servo's, I/O devices/modules, PLC's and HMI's.
  • Indirectly coach, coordinate and develop a technical team
  • Create and follow a safe working environment through established safety working permits, OSHA, escalation protocol, corrective action, food safety risk assessments, etc
  • Support factory utilities infrastructure including air compressors, boilers, chillers, wastewater, etc.
  • Initiate Breakdown Analyses (BDAs) for failures meeting the BDA trigger
  • Any Ad Hoc requests
