Open Rank - Psychology Librarian, USF Libraries Research & Instruction (Finance)

Research & Instruction Librarians participate in USF Libraries' information literacy instruction initiatives and support high-impact practices in associated courses and university initiatives. The incumbent will be joining a team of librarians who are creative and forward-thinking with strong interpersonal skills and who expand partnerships across library departments and with colleagues across the USF campuses. This position reports to the Director for Research & Instruction at the USF Tampa Campus Library and is a member of the USF Libraries Faculty.

The Psychology Librarian will work closely with faculty, students, and staff in the Department of Psychology as well as closely related departments in the College of Behavioral and Community Sciences on all three campuses. The Research & Instruction department provides services across all three USF campuses through a liaison model that includes subject teams with the Psychology Librarian joining the Social, Community, Behavioral Sciences and Education subject team. The incumbent will be expected to support evidence synthesis across campuses in a variety of disciplines (excluding the health sciences). Applicants who don't have prior knowledge and experience with evidence synthesis will be required to complete training if selected.Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master's degree from an accredited institution in library science and appropriate experience as a professional librarian consistent with university guidelines. Evidence of professional growth through publication, association activities, or other contributions to the field.

  • Must meet university criteria for appointment to the rank of Assistant Librarian or Associate Librarian.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Work experience as a librarian in an academic library is preferred. Experience or education in psychology is preferred.

  • Provide high-level, subject-specific research assistance to faculty and students.
  • \n
  • Provide in-depth research, publishing, and scholarly impact services to Psychology
    and COCBS faculty, researchers, and graduate students.
  • \n
  • Support CBCS and Psychology faculty, researchers, and graduate students in
    finding, evaluating, and utilizing primary and secondary research resources,
    to include psychometric tests and instruments.
  • \n
  • Work with USF students to help them succeed in their curricular goals, research
    assignments, and high-impact undergraduate research activities, ultimately
    supporting their continued academic progress and promoting increased
    graduation rates.

  • Develop a focused portfolio of high-quality research and creative accomplishments
    and actively participate and demonstrate leadership in professional responsibilities
    that serve the USF Libraries, USF, the profession, and the community.
