The Accounting Manager plays a critical leadership role in ensuring the integrity, accuracy, and timeliness of financial reporting across Timken's U.S. legal entities, in full compliance with U.S. GAAP. This role is responsible for overseeing the preparation and analysis of monthly financial statements and ensuring the accuracy of reconciled account balances.

Beyond core financial reporting, this role leads key global accounting functions, including leasing, fixed assets, and intercompany accounting, ensuring consistency, transparency, and compliance across all related processes.

A key component of this role is ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements. The Accounting Manager serves as a liaison for internal and external audits and is responsible for maintaining robust internal controls for U.S. legal entities.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the monthly financial close process for U.S. legal entities, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of financial statements.
  • Analyze financial results and reconciled account balances to support strategic insights and business decisions. Manage global use of the company's account reconciliation and journal entry system, ensuring compliance and onboarding of new business units.
  • Oversee global accounting operations for leasing, fixed assets, and intercompany transactions.
  • Own SOX compliance for assigned areas, working cross-functionally with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial reporting processes, systems, and internal controls.
  • Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and compliance

Minimum Qualifications :
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field with at least 7 years' relevant experience.
  • Strong communication, leadership, and team skills
  • Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and SOX compliance.
  • Key Systems Experience: ERP (SAP Preferred), Consolidation Tools (Onestream Preferred), Advanced Excel skills
  • Drive for continuous improvement
