Assistant Facility Security Officer (Human Resources)

The Assistant Facility Security Officer (AFSO) supports the Facility Security Officer in managing the company's security program in accordance with the National Industrial Security Program Operating Manual (NISPOM), 32 CFR Part 117, and other applicable government regulations. This role includes oversight of physical security systems, classified document control, and program-specific security responsibilities as a Contract Program Security Officer (CPSO).

Duties & Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities:

Personnel Security

  • Assist with processing and tracking personnel security clearances via DISS, NISS, and e-QIP
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date personnel security files
  • Conduct initial, annual, and termination security briefings
  • Manage visit requests and certifications

Physical Security Administration

  • Oversee access control systems, intrusion detection systems, and CCTV monitoring
  • Conduct regular physical security inspections and self-assessments
  • Maintain facility accreditation documentation and support DCSA inspections
  • Ensure compliance with safeguarding requirements for classified and Controlled Unclassified Information (CUI)
  • Coordinate physical security upgrades and maintenance with facilities and IT teams

Classified Document Administration

  • Manage receipt, transmission, reproduction, and destruction of classified materials
  • Maintain accountability records for classified documents and media
  • Ensure proper marking, storage, and handling of classified information
  • Conduct periodic inventories and audits of classified holdings
  • Support classified contract requirements including DD254 reviews and compliance

Contract Program Security Officer (CPSO) Duties

  • Serve as the primary security point of contact for assigned classified programs
  • Interpret and implement program-specific security requirements from DD254s and contract clauses
  • Coordinate with government Program Security Officers (PSOs) and other stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain Program Security Plans (PSPs), OPSEC plans, and other required documentation
  • Monitor compliance with program security requirements and report discrepancies
  • Support secure communications, classified meetings, and secure work environments
  • Provide security guidance to program personnel and subcontractors

Security Program Support

  • Assist in developing and implementing security policies and procedures
  • Maintain security documentation including SOPs, emergency action plans, and incident reports
  • Participate in internal audits and government security reviews
  • Support investigations of security incidents and violations

Pre-Requisites / Skills / Experience Requirements:

Requirements:

  • 2+ years professional experience in administrative, regulatory, or compliance roles
  • Experience conducting trainings and briefings
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills
  • Strong organization skills
  • Proficient in MS Office Suite
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision
  • Able to work in environments where cell phones are prohibited (20% of the time)
  • Eligibility to obtain U.S. DoD Security Clearance [current, active U.S. DoD Security Clearance preferred]
