Project Director (Finance)

Role description:

Arcadis is seeking a Project Director who will oversee, direct and manage the delivery of complex projects and programs, managing relationships with senior stakeholders, and providing a leadership role to project/program teams in the Education sector. You will be responsible for ensuring all work and outputs are executed to meet business plans and goals. This person will be leading and building a robust division, and will Identify and secure new opportunities in the K-12 sector including Bond and Pre-Bond programs.

Role accountabilities:

  • Lead an operational team, setting objectives, managing performance and ensuring that staff have the necessary skills to deliver the project objectives
  • Translate business objectives into operational financial targets, producing clearly defined business cases, plans and schedules for projects, and taking responsibility for meeting the profit and budgetary targets of the project
  • Lead the implementation of complex projects, managing multi-disciplinary teams and working to mid-long term timescales, to ensure delivery standards meet expectations
  • Monitor and review the performance and behavior of all team members, including educating and influencing others, and take action to ensure organizational policies and codes of conduct are followed
  • Assure compliance with contracts in terms of project delivery parameters and scope of service
  • Analyze and review complex information from a range of data sources including colleagues' recommendations, in order to identify how different options may impact project delivery and advise clients and internal stakeholders on potential implications
  • Develop project management processes and policies and lead the implementation of system improvements for own projects, ensuring developments are in line with strategic business objectives
  • Manage relationships with key internal stakeholders in order to identify opportunities for improved efficiencies and collaboration within projects, to ensure commercial viability and customer satisfaction
  • Act as a technical expert within own projects, providing strategic advice to other senior managers, in order to support successful delivery in line with project objectives and strategies
  • Manage and build relationships with client project sponsors/stakeholders in order to ensure all parties are informed and aware of project progress and are aligned to meet objectives

Qualifications & Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Substantial relevant experience, including experience of managing complex K-12 projects and programs
  • Proven ability to manage, motivate and lead teams
  • Leading project management expert within area of specialism
  • Experience of managing business relationships at executive level
  • Relevant professional qualification or chartered status
  • Proven track record of sourcing and delivering complex projects and programs in the educational sector

Arcadis offers benefits for full time and part time positions. These benefits include medical, dental, and vision, EAP, 401K, STD, LTD, AD&D, life insurance, paid parental leave, reward & recognition program and optional benefits including wellbeing benefits, adoption assistance and tuition reimbursement. We offer nine paid holidays and 15 days PTO that accrue per year. The salary range for this position is $140,000 - $190,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on several factors, such as experience, education, budget, internal equity, project and location.
