Farm Manager (Finance)



The Farm Manager is to oversee our garden, renovations, lawn care, maintenance, and general upkeep of our property, including a farmhouse and pool. This is a hands-on working manager who is passionate about sustainable practices, meticulous in property upkeep, and experienced in managing both indoor and outdoor projects.
Garden Maintenance:• Plant, water, weed, prune, and harvest vegetables, fruits, and flowers.• Prepare soil and apply fertilizers and organic pest control solutions.• Operate and maintain gardening tools and equipment, such as tillers, mowers, and trimmers.• Monitor plant health and report any issues such as pests or diseases.
Pool Maintenance:• Clean and maintain the pool, including skimming debris, vacuuming, and brushing pool walls.• Test and balance pool chemicals to ensure safe swimming conditions.• Inspect pool equipment, such as filters and pumps, and report any malfunctions or necessary repairs.• Assist with opening and closing the pool for the season.
Farmhouse Upkeep:• Perform light maintenance tasks around the farmhouse, including cleaning, minor repairs, and painting.• Assist with renovation projects as needed, such as carpentry, plumbing, or electrical work.• Ensure the farmhouse and surrounding areas are tidy and well-maintained.• Assist with household chores and errands as needed.
General Farm Duties:• Feed and care for any livestock or pets on the property.• Maintain fences, gates, and other structures to ensure they are secure and in good condition.• Assist with waste management, including composting and recycling.• Help with seasonal tasks such as snow removal, leaf raking, and preparing the property for winter.And other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:• Previous experience working on a farm or in a similar outdoor environment preferred.• Knowledge of gardening practices and plant care.• Basic understanding of pool maintenance and chemical handling.• General handyman skills, including minor repairs and maintenance.• Ability to operate and maintain farm equipment and tools.• Strong work ethic, reliability, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.• Good physical condition and ability to perform manual labor, including lifting up to 50 pounds.
Minimum eligibility requirements• Proven experience as a Farm Manager or similar role.• Strong knowledge of gardening, landscaping, and lawn care.• Experience with renovation projects and property maintenance.• Excellent organizational and leadership skills.• Ability to operate and maintain various types of equipment and machinery.• Knowledge of sustainable and organic farming practices.• Good communication and interpersonal skills.• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
