Education Coordinator (Project Management)



The Department of Dermatology is seeking an Educational Coordinator to provide administrative support to the program director and faculty/physicians. This role manages and coordinates all administrative functions related to educational events, programs, and workshops, including program planning. Additionally, the coordinator handles onboarding and record maintenance for medical student rotation program, ensuring compliance with accreditation standards and supporting the department's educational mission. The position also oversees communications to promote departmental events, accolades, and awards through internal news outlets, departmental newsletters, and basic website management.

Provides support and assistance in the identification, development and delivery of educational programs or initiatives. Typically works under general supervision, while performing assignments that are varied and that may be somewhat difficult in character, but usually involve limited responsibility.  

Duties:

    • Manages and coordinates all administrative functions as it relates to educational events, programs, and workshops.
    • Provides program planning, development, and implementation for designated student educational programs to ensure quality of program.
    • Maintains timely progress and reports updates to program managers and assistants.
    • Facilitates, coordinates, and participates in discussions between cross collaborative teams and departments internally and externally.
    • Oversee the design layout and format of project-related documents, brochures, reports, and conference/meeting materials.
    • Creates, maintains, and updates content for department website.
    • Letter writing for recommendations, promotions, awards etc.
    • Manages and coordinates all administrative duties related to the recruitment and selection process for medical student rotation program. Coordinates candidate interviews and recruitment selection process. Responds to applicant inquires, organizes the application review and interview process and coordinates interview days. 
    • Manages the onboarding/matriculation process of new student education trainees.
    • Maintains student education program records and evaluation. Facilitates verification of training process for past trainees. Completes program reports in accordance with accreditation standards and tracks participant progress through the program for completion requirements. Coordinates information required for onboarding program recertification. 
    • Miscellaneous special projects and other various duties as needed to successfully fulfill the function of the program(s).
    • Collaborates with the Lead Education Program Coordinator and team members in the execution of large-scale group projects, ensuring seamless communication and integrations of efforts. 

Required Education: Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Business, Education or related field, AND:

  • 12 months of administrative or program support experience.

Equivalency/Substitution: Experience or a combination of education & related experience can be considered in lieu of degree. A one-to-one ratio is used to determine the number of years of experience required in place of a degree.

  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative work style
  • Computer skills, including proficiency in navigating and maintaining databases
  • Ability to communicate well and build rapport quickly with students, faculty, and staff
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
