Nurse Mentor, RN (Healthcare)

 As a Nurse Mentor you'll provide clinical leadership and participative management to the Borden Healthcare Center, ensuring the mission, vision and values are supported through the delivery of care and services to residents. You will participate in assessing, planning, organizing, directing and facilitating the clinical operations of your assigned Household to ensure regulatory compliance to all standards of care.

As a Nurse Mentor, you'll collaborate with the Healthcare Interdisciplinary Team, residents, and families to help provide services and care that enhance the quality of life for every resident under your charge.   You'll also participate actively with staff, residents and colleagues of Kendal at Lexington and other affiliates to maintain productive, cooperative relationships.  

In your role as a Nurse Mentor, you'll put the residents first, makes informed decisions, achieve results, act with vision and purpose and foster teamwork.  The Borden Healthcare Center would like you as a Nurse Mentor to communicate openly and effectively, learn continuously, create, innovate and adapt, and promote diversity.  You should also comply with work rules and maintain a safe working environment.

You'll be responsible for directing the care services within your assigned Household.  Recently remodeled to the Household Model, you'll be the coach, mentor, major proponent for Person Center Care, and main clinical resource for the healthcare staff in your Household.  In this model you promote autonomous decision making from the staff, promote critical thinking practices, and determine best approaches that enhance resident independence. 

Bachelor's Degree for Nursing and a current licensure by the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or come from an NLC member state.  Nursing management experience in a long-term care facility encouraged in order to be considered for this position.
