Stevens Pre-College Programs Summer Residential Hall Director 2025 (Personal Services)

Join us at Stevens Institute of Technology as a Summer Resident Hall Director (HD) for our dynamic and fast-paced Pre-College Programs! Each summer, Stevens welcomes high school students from across the country to experience college life in a supportive and enriching environment. Our Hall Directors play a vital role in creating a safe, inclusive, and engaging residential experience for participants and student staff alike.
Key Responsibilities:
Serve as the live-in supervisor for a co-educational residence hall housing high school program participants.
Lead a team of student staff members, providing training, support, and oversight.
Manage evening and overnight supervision and respond to on-call needs.
Coordinate social programming and support off-campus trips and weekend events.
Support daily operations, including check-in/check-out, roommate assignments, and emergency response.
Foster a strong sense of community and ensure the safety and well-being of all participants.
Program Dates:
June 16 – June 20: Hall Director Training
June 23 – July 3: Student Staff Training
July 6 – August 1: Pre-College Programs in Session
What We Provide:
On-campus housing with access to kitchen and bathroom facilities
Weekly meal plan: breakfast and lunch on weekdays when students are on campus
$120/week in Duck Bills (usable for meals or bookstore)
One weekday vacation day during the summer
Who We're Looking For:
Bachelor's degree required
1–2+ years of experience in Residence Life, Pre-College, or related fields
Ability to work evenings, weekends, and live on campus for the duration of the program
Strong communication, leadership, and crisis management skills
A collaborative spirit and a commitment to providing a high-quality student experience

In compliance with the New Jersey Wage Transparency Act, the semi-monthly base range for this position is $2,500- $2,833.33 Semi-Monthly. This range represents the University's good faith estimate of possible compensation at the time of posting. Stevens Institute of Technology determines compensation based on factors including the position's scope and responsibilities, the candidate's experience, education, skills, internal equity, market data, and organizational considerations. The final salary will be set considering departmental budget, qualifications, and relevant credentials. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes additional forms of compensation, such as incentives, stipends, or other applicable pay components.
