Bartender - Carmel Beach Hotel FT (Food Services)



Carmel Beach Hotel is a boutique 26-room historic property located steps from the iconic white sands of Carmel Beach. Known for its coastal elegance and timeless charm, the hotel offers guests a serene and personalized experience. Our bar and lounge are central to the guest experience, offering curated cocktails, local wines, and premium spirits in an inviting, scenic setting.
Position Summary:
We are seeking a personable, skilled, and service-oriented bartender to join our hospitality team. The ideal candidate has a passion for crafting memorable drinks and providing exceptional service in a refined yet relaxed environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Greet guests in a warm and welcoming manner
Prepare and serve a variety of cocktails, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverages to guests in accordance with recipes and hotel standards
Create a comfortable and engaging bar atmosphere for guests, whether locals or travelers
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the bar area, including bar tools, glassware, and inventory
Ensure compliance with all liquor laws, health and safety regulations, and Carmel Beach Hotel policies
Collaborate with the culinary team to suggest food and drink pairings
Monitor guest consumption and ensure responsible alcohol service
Restock and replenish bar inventory and supplies
Handle cash and process payments accurately using the POS system
Ensures knowledge of food to be served on the restaurant menu.
Communicates clearly and effectively with Charm and Courtesy.
Is familiar with and able to offer and up-sell beverages and extra options.
Maintains excellent standards of Health and Safety in line with hotel policy and CAL/OSHA requirements.
Maintains a teamwork orientation toward and among co-workers.
Responsible for bar setup before and after service.
Assist in the effort to ensure guests are greeted in a warm and timely manner.
Assist in the service of food and wine as necessary and as time permits.
Responds to guest concerns and questions and resolve to guest's satisfaction by troubleshooting or directing guest complaints to the appropriate department head for prompt action.
Coordinates and communicates with kitchen and service staff effectively.
Assists with liquor inventory as requested.
Assists with silver and glassware inventory as needed.
Maintains impeccable standards of appearance and standards of silence.
Assist with setup and breakdown for special events and private functions as needed.
Completes other duties as assigned.
