Production Manager (Industrial Manufacturing) (Finance)



Position Overview

The Production Manager at the Arlington plant is a newly created role responsible for leading manufacturing production personnel to ensure safe, efficient, and compliant production operations. This role leads production planning, labor allocation, quality control, and process improvement while holding the team accountable for meeting operational goals and delivery commitments. The position ensures effective delegation, promotes team development, and drives operational improvements through structured processes and data-informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

Lead, Manage, and Hold Accountable (LMA):

  • Direct and coach supervisors and maintenance staff to deliver on safety, quality, and operational goals.
  • Hold team members accountable for production performance and compliance with company standards.
  • Foster a culture of safety, belonging, and continuous improvement through ongoing feedback and training.
Optimize Production Planning & Execution:
  • Implement and monitor manufacturing plans that meet program requirements and customer specifications.
  • Analyze resource needs (labor, equipment, and materials) and ensure schedules maximize efficiency.
  • Coordinate across departments to optimize material flow, minimize downtime, and meet delivery commitments.
Ensure Quality & Continuous Improvement:
  • Drive adherence to established quality standards and delivery commitments.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance productivity, quality, and compliance.
  • Oversee quality control processes and audits to ensure customer and regulatory compliance.
Strategic Resource & Workforce Management:
  • Manage labor allocation and production scheduling to balance efficiency and customer deadlines.
  • Partner with HR to recruit, train, and develop employees for operational success.
  • Support succession planning by identifying and developing future leaders within the plant. Support and drive employee engagement within the plant.

Qualifications
  • Seven or more years of work experience in a manufacturing (or a related environment) required; Ten or more years preferred
  • Three or more years of Supervisory / Leadership experience in a manufacturing or similar environment highly preferred
  • Wood products industry experience preferred
  • Excellent Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc) required
  • ERP system experience such as SAP preferred
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
