Machinist - Level 2- Broach Operator (Finance)



You will report directly to our Production Supervisor, and you'll work out of our Greer, SC location on an on-site work schedule.

  • Machine Operation: Proficient in operating CNC-controlled broaching equipment.
  • Technical Reading: Ability to read and interpret operation sheets, parameter sheets, and work instructions.
  • Tool Management: Knowledge of cutting tool wear, replacement procedures, and tool holder maintenance.
  • Inspection & Measurement: Skilled in using gauges, CMM, and visual inspection techniques.
  • Process Compliance: Understanding of frozen processes and quality control standards.
  • SAP Documentation: Experience with clocking and documentation in SAP systems.
  • Safety Awareness: Strong understanding of machine hazards and protective measures.
  • Problem Solving: Ability to identify and report equipment or process issues.
  • Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy in part setup, inspection, and documentation.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience as a machinist or in a related role.
  • Strong technical skills in operating broaching machines and understanding machining processes.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Experience with quality control processes and inspection techniques.
  • Familiarity with safety regulations and best practices in a machining environment.

WE VALUE

  • High School Diploma or equivalent; technical certification is a plus.
  • Experience in aerospace manufacturing or a related industry.

  • Familiarity with GE Fanuc 18i-M controls preferred

  • Operate Horizontal Broach machines
  • Follow all safety protocols, including machine-specific hazards and the use of protective devices
  • Perform machine startup and "Home" procedures, including E-Stop checks.
  • Conduct TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) tasks as applicable.
  • Set up parts and enter programs per operational requirements.
  • Load and unload parts from the machine safely and efficiently.
  • Maintain proper coolant flow and monitor cutting tool wear.
  • Replace worn cutting tools or report for replacement as per guidelines.
  • Evaluate and maintain workholding devices and fixtures.
  • Perform scrap part runs and table checks (e.g., wire size, pallet gauge).
  • Validate dimensions using CMM and make machine adjustments if authorized.
  • Clean parts and handle non-conforming parts per documented procedures.
  • Conduct First Piece Verification.
  • Comply with frozen process requirements
  • Perform One-Over-One inspections and document results.
  • Measure parts using gauges as specified in work instructions.
  • Visually inspect parts for surface finish and handling damage.
  • Maintain workstation cleanliness and perform 5S audits.
  • Accurately clock conforming and non-conforming parts in SAP per SWI.
  • Complete all required documentation in SAP and maintain records.
