Product Manager, Guidance & EMT (Healthcare)



Summary

The Product Manager is responsible for the development and execution of CIVCO's sales and marketing plan for the guidance and EMT product lines including upstream and downstream marketing management of capital and consumable products to ensure product performance meets the needs of the market.  The Product Manager will work closely with Marketing, Product Management, Engineering, and Sales team members to develop products which fit the needs of the changing market and implement effective go-to-market strategies to drive sales and maximize brand exposure.  Additionally, the Product Manager will oversee OEM driven new product development in coordination with the Technical Product Manager.

Key Duties and Responsibilities include the following.  (Other duties may be assigned.)

  • Make key decisions on the Guidance and EMT product lines that are in line with the strategies and key initiatives for the company.
    • Be responsible for financial decisions on products.
    • Set initiatives and strategies for product lines that positively impact EBITDA performance.
  • Act as primary interface with customers by:
    • Conducting market evaluations of products and obtaining clinical feedback.
    • Performing continuous needs assessment and product reviews with leading clinicians through customer visits and trade shows to determine required products to meet market needs.
    • Internal reporting will be communicated to product development/engineering, manufacturing/operations, sales and marketing and will provide clear and concise product specifications and price points.
    • Working closely with channel management to ensure seamless product delivery.
  • In collaboration with Marketing Communications and Product Management team members, define and implement marketing campaigns
    • Plan the launch of new products and releases and collaborate with cross-functional team for implementation of the plan
    • Develop product positioning and messaging to highlight key differentiators of products
    • Assess effectiveness and ways to improve our communications process both internally and externally.
    • Provide support for marketing collateral, advertising materials, marketing campaigns, tradeshows and other promotional activities as needed.
  • Deliver sales channel support as needed
    • Produce training support materials for a multi-channel sales organization, including: direct, OEMs and international distributors
    • Provide booth staffing as needed at tradeshows. Communicate with customers and provide feedback to company during tradeshows.
    • Create and manage the message map and the sales playbook content.
  • Serve as voice-of-the-customer to drive product improvements and innovation through the product development process.
    • Perform market research and segmentation ensuring business cases and project ROI documentation is accurate and complete.
    • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and provide concise product definitions responsive to customer needs and market opportunities.
    • Coordinates product line expansion evaluations and sustaining product line updates to maximize product life.
  • Drive portfolio management activities for product lines.
    • Develop near and long-term product roadmap strategies by evaluating the current line and aligning with emerging clinical and geographical market trends.
    • Support regular product pricing reviews and updates as needed.
    • Coordinate customer communications, notifications and product training.
    • Lead organizational alignment during portfolio reviews by effectively communicating direction and objectives on projects on the roadmap.
  • Demonstrate full understanding of product line sales performance across all channels.
    • Provide monthly dashboard of sales performance, highlighting key drivers for ‘wins' and ‘misses.'
    • Collaborate with sales channel managers to effectively react to sales trends and taking appropriate correction actions.
    • Establish competitive pricing to capture new business opportunities and/or maintain market share while maximizing gross margin.

Education, Experience and Certifications

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Management, Business Administration, or related field; MBA strongly preferred. Minimum of 3 years of product marketing and/or customer relationship management experience; or equivalent combination of related education and experience.

Essential Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Office. The position requires both strong written and verbal communications skills, with the ability to multi-task and pay attention to detail while analyzing and drawing conclusions from data. Working knowledge of hospital systems including: risk management, equipment service and repairs is preferred.
