Director, Commercial Analytics (Hybrid) (Finance)



As the Commercial Analytics Director, you will play a critical role in providing strategic leadership to ensure data-driven decision-making enhances commercial performance. It will involve leading a high-performing analytics team and serving as a key business partner and advisor to commercial and franchise leadership. In this role, you will lead a team to utilize data insights to inform strategic decisions and optimize business impact. Collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, you will integrate data from multiple sources, foster a culture of curiosity and innovation, and ensure consistency in reporting and metric definitions.

Your leadership will directly influence the development, resources, and refinement of commercial strategies, ensuring Insulet maintains a competitive edge in the industry.

Responsibilities

Provide Strategic Insights for Leadership

  • Act as the trusted analytics partner to commercial and franchise leadership, translating complex data into strategic actions and insights
  • Lead a team that transforms structured and unstructured data into meaningful, timely, and actionable insights that drive commercial success
  • Ensure analytics outputs are tailored to the maturity of each market, and reflect relevance and prioritization of efforts

Drive Cross-Functional Data Integration

  • Connect data insights across sales, marketing, market access, finance, and operations to create a unified, 360-degree view of commercial performance
  • Champion the need for global standardization with market-specific flexibility in reporting and analytics
  • Collaborate and partner with IT and data engineering teams to influence the evolution of platforms used for insight delivery and data accessibility

Lead & Develop High-Performing Teams

  • Manage, mentor, and empower a high-performing analytics team by fostering a culture rooted in curiosity, learning, and innovation
  • Allocate team resources strategically across high-impact initiatives, ensuring alignment with evolving business priorities and regional needs
  • Build and develop a team environment and culture that thrives on collaboration, a growth mindset, and purpose-driven problem-solving

Oversee Reporting & Trend Analysis

  • Lead the delivery of recurring performance reports, and in-depth analyses to keep the business informed and proactive
  • Ensure alignment and consistency in metric definitions and business rules across all reporting outputs
  • Accountable for coordinating across teams to ensure data accuracy validation, particularly for key commercial inputs like incentive comp data, call activity, and formulary access

Enable Business Continuity

  • Build continuity plans to maintain analytics delivery during team transitions, absences, or resourcing shifts
  • Provide guidance on resourcing and investment decisions for sales, marketing, and access teams based on data-driven opportunity sizing
  • Provide guidance to continuously refine the business rules, data definitions, and methodologies behind key commercial metrics and KPIs

Education and Experience

Minimum

  • Bachelor's degree (preferred field of study business, data science, statistics, economics)
  • 15+ years of experience in commercial analytics, preferably within med tech, healthcare, or life sciences
  • 10+ years of experience managing and coaching high-performing analytics teams
  • Experience and proven success working in matrixed, cross-functional global organizations

Preferred

  • Master's degree or MBA

  • Strong organizational skills to allocate analytics resources effectively and ensure team continuity and coverage across multiple priorities

Travel Requirements: 25% business travel as needed

Additional Information:
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $159,600.00 - $239,400.00. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position in the primary work location in the US. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
