Head of Capital Governance, VP (Finance)



Who we are looking for

The Global Capital Management Team, within the Global Treasury organization, oversees State Street's capital planning, monitoring, and analytics. The group manages our Capital position and capital ratios as well as manages and executes our annual CCAR submission and internal quarterly stress testing. We work collaboratively with the Global Treasury Risk Management (GTRM) function to ensure we are managing capital within firm policies, limits and risk tolerance while meeting regulatory expectations promulgated by the Federal Reserve, the FDIC and other regulators globally.

We are looking for a Vice President - Head of Capital Governance to join Capital Management reporting to the Managing Director, Head of Capital Management.

What you will be responsible for

  • Envision, establish and lead Capital Management's comprehensive governance, communication, and response strategy for regulatory, supervisory and internal oversight matters
  • Employ strong knowledge, understanding and awareness of compliance and regulation, to advise, develop and evolve internal policies, procedures and processes to meet regulatory requirements
  • Own the Capital Policy/Guidelines and Capital Plan and its administration
  • Work with Stress Testing PMO and various stakeholders to facilitate CCAR and internal quarterly stress testing execution in compliance with regulatory expectations and internal controls
  • Oversee control management, including implementation and testing and be the central point of contact to track, manage, and respond to both internal and external regulatory, compliance, Risk and Audit inquiries
  • Frame formal responses with detailed documentation and evidence to close out any open issues
  • Key point of contact for the New Products Review and Approval process but working with various stakeholders to ensure al Capital impacts and considerations are covered
  • Ensure all policies, controls and procedures are reviewed and up to date adhered to and evidence is documented
  • Foster an environment that promotes compliance, continuous improvement, appropriate and effective controls, self-detection and remediation

Education & Preferred Qualifications
  • BA/BS degree in finance or related field
  • 8 + years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, with specific experience in Capital Management
  • Knowledge of financial markets and the banking regulatory environment and extensive experience working with regulators
  • Strong written, verbal communication and time management skills
  • Ability to multi-task, manage priorities, delegate team tasks while maintaining focus on priorities and meet deadlines in a demanding and deadline-oriented environment
  • Must be detail-oriented, well-organized, innovative, and a self-starter and team player with a high level of initiative

Salary Range:
$115,000 - $190,000 Annual

The range quoted above applies to the role in the primary location specified. If the candidate would ultimately work outside of the primary location above, the applicable range could differ.
