Returning Student Coordinator (Finance)

Description:
Job Summary

The Returning Student Coordinator directs and oversees Student Reclamation programs to re-engage and graduate former UHD students. The Coordinator recruits new transfer students with some credit and no credentials (SCNC) and coordinates with cross-campus partners.

Duties

  • Advises and assists students in navigating UHD from admission to graduation
  • Recruits former UHD stopped-out students as well as new transfer "some credit, no credential" SCNC students
  • Oversees the operational elements of student reclamation programs, including data management
  • Collaborates with campus partners to develop business processes to facilitate the engagement of SCNC students from admission to graduation
  • Creates and/or coordinates communications for student reclamation
  • Develops and plans the implementation of student reclamation initiatives
  • Hires, trains, and supervises support staff and student workers

  • Performs all other duties as assigned

  • Regularly assigns work to subordinate(s)

  • Trains and counsels subordinate(s)
  • Has responsibility for scheduling work hours and granting time off
  • May conduct performance evaluations and make recommendations for hiring and dismissing employees

Qualifications

Required Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Communication, Education, Marketing, or a related field

Required Experience:
  • Minimum of 3 (three) years of related job experience, including experience with institutional policy and program implementation

License/Certification:
  • None required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree is preferred

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of trends, issues, and accepted practices relevant to the position

Skills:
  • Good technical skills, including proficiency in MS Excel, MS Access, and PeopleSoft
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, including good public speaking skills
  • Good project management skills

Abilities:
  • Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret large volumes of data
  • Ability to effectively communicate with a wide range of individuals and constituencies in a diverse university community

Work Location and Physical Demands

Primary Work Location:

  • Works in an office environment

Physical Demands:
  • Work is performed in a typical interior work environment which does not subject the employee to any unpleasant elements
  • Individual has discretion in relation to walking, standing, etc., and has minimal exposure to physical risks
