Environmental Engineer (Finance)



What you will do

Ensure compliance with all applicable Federal, State and Municipal environmental rules and regulations as well as Clarios Corporate Environmental Standards through the implementation and maintenance of an Environmental Management System. This will be onsite 5 days a week at our St Joseph DC plant.

 

How you will do it

  • Lead and maintain environmental compliance programs, ensuring alignment with facility, regional, corporate, and regulatory standards through audits, inspections, and accurate recordkeeping.
  • Administer environmental management systems, including hazard analysis, spill prevention, hazardous waste handling, emissions, emergency planning, and employee training.
  • Serve as the technical expert and liaison to Federal, State, and Local regulatory agencies, including preparation of required environmental reports and documentation.
  • Monitor and analyze environmental regulations to assess impact on plant operations and guide proactive compliance measures.
  • Communicate environmental risks, opportunities, and performance metrics to plant and regional leadership to drive continuous improvement.
  • Promote a culture of environmental responsibility through strategic communication, training, and escalation of issues to appropriate leadership.

What we look for

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, EHS Management, or related field along with a minimum of six (6) years of professional experience, preferably in a manufacturing plant environment
  • Professional experience in air permitting and operations, wastewater permitting and operations, and regulatory experience in CAA, CWA, SARA, TIER II, TRI (EPCRA), NESHAP, RCRA, CERCLA, SPCC, etc.

St. Joseph - Distribution Center  

 

Our St. Joseph, Missouri distribution center charges, packages, and ships the batteries used in cars, boats, motorcycles, and heavy-duty trucks. We opened in 2000, now employ more than 280 people and operate six days per week.
