Manager, Terminal-Port Ops (Finance)

SUMMARY: Responsible for all aspects of the port/terminal facilities, including yard operations, stevedoring, car division, equipment control, intermodal, traffic, maintenance, vessel scheduling, coordination and integration with other departments.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Ensure all operations are in compliance with all local and federal entities and all Crowley policies and procedures. May interact with vessel operations and other terminals for scheduling. Maintain working relationship with union officials, stewards, employees and non-union personnel through proper administration of all policies and Collective Bargaining Agreement. Responsibilities may also include trucking operations. Responsible to oversee and participate in hiring, training, and evaluation of personnel. May also conduct customer tours and sales calls as requested, and by coordinating service requirements for them both directly and indirectly. EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in business, transportation or related field; or a combination of post high school and equal experience may be substituted for education.
EXPERIENCE: 5 - 10 years related operations experience. 3 - 5 years' experience in a supervisory or management position. Experience with administering a CBA may be required.
TECHNICAL PROFICIENCY: Proficient in Microsoft Office products, including Excel, Outlook and Word.
COMPETENCIES: Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills. Ability to apply skill sets and demonstrate proven experience developing, improving and streamlining processes to meet established goals and objectives. Ability to effectively manage projects that may vary in nature and scope.
OTHER: Bilingual skills may be required. Valid Transportation Worker Identification Card (TWIC) credential is required. Also, subject to a Motor Vehicle Records (MVR) check to obtain your driving history.
JOB SCOPE: Position impacts multiple business units/segments.
WORKING CONDITIONS: Works both inside an office environment and outside in conditions of both high and low temperatures. May be exposed to odors, dust, dirt, mechanical hazards, high noise levels and potentially dangerous equipment. Must be able to crouch and stoop to get into areas with restricted headroom and be able to climb ladders. May require extended use of computer keyboard and viewing of computer monitor and ability to sit for long periods of time.
