The Role
The Director, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM) is responsible for the continuous strategic design/ development and implementation of Genmab's Enterprise-wide Global Risk Program and framework, including enabling enhanced identification, mitigation/ controls, governance, and oversight/ reporting with respect to Company's priority enterprise risks and assuring executive management, and Board visibility of same. This position serves as the organization's main risk management expert responsible for collaborating with key stakeholders across functions and geographies and enabling timely and effective updates to the GCRC/ Global Compliance & Risk Committee as to Program development and progress as well as sharing of new and emerging risks potentially affecting Genmab's progress toward Company Goals, its people, reputation, business, and/or products/ operations on an ongoing basis. Furthering risk awareness, education, and intelligence and connecting management and key personnel to risk framework elements are key expectations for the role.
Building upon ERM framework elements established to date, this role will be instrumental in enabling the complete ERM foundational build- inclusive of regularized Business Continuity/ Crisis Management, risk assessment, priority risk actions/ progress/ KRIs, risk appetite, workshops, education, and related elements. The role is also to lead the strategic design for a right-sized, fit-for-purpose Genmab Risk COE/ Center of Excellence that optimally supports the Company's Vision, Purpose, and Goals in manner reflecting corporate values
The role will report directly to the Chief Compliance & Risk Officer (CCRO).
Responsibilities
o Enterprise Risk Program
• Refine and regularly review/ update as needed existing Company ERM Framework elements as needed, including establishing and refining risk management and oversight processes, templates, and executive management reporting dashboard(s).
• CCRO
• Compliance and Risk Team members globally
• Global Functional unit executives as needed
Requirements
Education
Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in business, risk and/or related technical field or equivalent work experience. Relevant Master's level degree (e.g. MBA, CPA, JD, CFE, other) strongly preferred.
Experience
• A minimum of 6-8 years of work experience in a dedicated global risk management role, preferably including biopharma or life sciences with both strategic and tactical responsibilities.
• Significant experience in the design, development, and implementation of enterprise- wide global risk programs and strategies in heavily regulated industry, including risk assessments, roadmapping, workshops, and automated risk systems and tools. Demonstrated risk management experience working in multinational organizations inclusive of those with US and European facilities.
• Demonstrated experience in setting up a risk management roadmap and driving the implementation of corresponding actions and processes.
• Demonstrated experience working closely with CCRO, executive management and Boards of Directors and effectively influencing key stakeholders across the organization as essential to maintenance of effective ERM Program.
Knowledge/Skills
• Deep knowledge and expertise regarding business risk management in a highly regulated global (prefer biopharma/ life sciences) enterprise with specialized insight into organizational and process excellence and understanding of relevant external regulatory environment and applicable standards.
