Facility Maintenance Assistant 2 (Sales)



Job Description

Summary/Objective:
The Facility Maintenance Assistant II performs remodeling, repairs, installations, and general maintenance of various company properties such as office complexes, rental units, travel trailers, and houses. This role requires a strong understanding of basic to intermediate construction skills such as electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, and mechanical systems. The Facility Maintenance Assistant II also needs to be able to multitask across various maintenance and repair projects to ensure the efficient operation and upkeep of facilities.
Essential Functions:

Perform general maintenance on electrical, plumbing, carpentry, HVAC, mechanical, painting and drywall, and finish work including tile.
Perform remodeling, repairs, and installations across company properties including offices, rental units, travel trailer, and residential homes.
Multitask across multiple projects while maintaining progress updates and providing a daily report of completed tasks, pending work, and materials needed for each phase.
Ensure operational efficiency of electrical and mechanical systems through timely inspection, troubleshooting, and repair.
Perform daily cleaning of the job and/or construction sites.
Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of job sites and company facilities, using appropriate cleaning supplies, including environmentally friendly products.
Identify and address cleanliness, safety, or maintenance concerns proactively; promptly report major issues (e.g.: water leaks, structural damage, electrical hazards) to the Facility Maintenance Manager.
Implement and follow all workplace safety policies and standards; actively assess and minimize worksite hazards.
Read and record measurements using a tape measure and perform basic math as needed for construction and repairs.
Operate and maintain hand tools and power tools safely and effectively.
Collaborate and communicate with team members and supervisors to ensure projects are completed efficiently and meet high standard expectations.
Work independently with integrity, dependability, and strong attention to detail.
Perform other related duties as assigned.

Work Environment:

Work is performed in a variety of environments including offices, rental units, shop facilities, houses, travel trailers, and outdoor properties.
Work may involve frequent transitions between indoor and outdoor settings throughout the day.
Exposure to varying temperatures and inclement weather conditions.
Exposure to dust, fumes, and other environmental factors typical of maintenance and repair work.
Works regularly around tools, mechanical equipment, and cleaning chemicals, including environmentally safe products.
May work in confined spaces, at heights, or on ladders, and must navigate uneven surfaces or tight spaces.
Appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) must be worn as required by task or environment.
Work is usually fast-paced and may require adjusting to shifting priorities or responding to urgent maintenance needs.

Physical Demands - The physical demands below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job:

Must have excellent visual and auditory physical capabilities in order to manage sight and sounds in hazardous work environments.
Specific vision abilities required include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Must be able to work around loud noises.
Must be able to push, pull, climb, sit, and stretch regularly while performing the essential functions of the job.
Must be able to be alert and cognitive of multiple concurrent activities, including awareness of other employees, subcontractors, machinery, and equipment.
Must be able to speak loudly so others can hear over other loud environmental noises.
Must be able to climb and descend step ladders and perform overhead work when required.
Must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Must be able to bend, twist, stoop, crouch, reach, and kneel.
Must be able to reach in all directions.
Must be able to grasp and hold equipment for long periods of time.
Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 80 lbs.

Travel Required:

This position required travel to various property locations within Northern California, and to multiple property location sites as scheduled. Employees may need to stay out of town for up to two weeks at a time to perform facility job tasks and meet schedules.

Required Education and Experience:

Minimum 3 years' experience in Property Maintenance, Carpentry, Renovation, or Handyman work.

Preferred Education and Experience:

High School diploma or equivalent.
5 years' experience in Property Maintenance, Carpentry, Renovation, or Handyman work.

Additional Eligibility Requirements:

Must have a valid Driver's License.
Must provide a clean driving record: 5 years
Have a reliable vehicle.
May be required to drive personal vehicle to multiple worksites during the workday. Proof of current/active automobile insurance if driving personal vehicle and assigned to multiple sites.
Ability to Pass a Drug and Background Screening.
Must have a cell phone for communication and scheduling.
Must be able to read general construction material supply labels, and documents.
