Electrician - Western NC (Education)



Position Overview:
ALG Senior is seeking a reliable and skilled Electrician to support the electrical infrastructure of our senior living communities. The Electrician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems to ensure safe, efficient, and uninterrupted power throughout all facilities. This role is critical to maintaining the safety, comfort, and daily functionality of environments that support our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
Installation and Service:

Install wiring, lighting systems, outlets, switches, panels, and circuit breakers in accordance with local and national electrical codes.

Replace or upgrade outdated or damaged wiring and electrical components to meet safety standards and energy efficiency goals.

Assist with electrical needs during facility renovations or new construction projects.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting:

Perform routine inspections of electrical systems and equipment to identify potential hazards or maintenance needs.

Troubleshoot and repair electrical malfunctions in lighting, power distribution, and other building systems.

Use tools such as voltmeters, ammeters, and circuit testers to diagnose electrical issues.

Safety and Compliance:

Ensure all electrical work meets NEC and local code requirements and is performed safely with appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).

Document all repairs, installations, and inspections for compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Support emergency preparedness by maintaining backup systems and participating in emergency response plans when needed.

Facility Support:

Respond promptly to service requests and electrical emergencies to minimize downtime and disruption for residents.

Coordinate work with maintenance staff, contractors, and other trades as needed to complete multi-discipline tasks efficiently.

Maintain a clean and safe work environment, properly storing tools and disposing of materials.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required.

Valid state Electrician License (Journeyman or Master level preferred).

3+ years of electrical experience in residential, commercial, or healthcare settings.

Strong knowledge of electrical systems, safety procedures, and applicable codes.

Ability to read blueprints, technical diagrams, and equipment manuals.

Experience with generator systems, lighting retrofits, and energy management systems a plus.

Must pass a background check and demonstrate a commitment to resident safety and confidentiality.

Excellent communication and time management skills.
