Lead Software Engineer Android (Finance)

As a Lead Software Engineer Android , you will bring your technical skills to a hospitality company with an award-winning culture. On the Android team reporting to the Senior Manager Mobile Software Engineering, you will support projects spanning platform and features.

HOW YOU WILL MAKE AN IMPACT

Your role is important and below are some of the fundamental job duties that make your work unique.

What your day-to-day will be like:

  • Implement new requirements within our Agile delivery methodology while following our established architectural principles.
  • Write clean, concise code that is stable, extensible, and unit tested. Actively participate in code reviews.
  • Debug and resolve production issues.

How you will collaborate with others:
  • Guide team to use preferred design patterns, mentor junior engineers, and analyze design tradeoffs with the team.
  • Communicate frequently and effectively with other engineers on the team, as well as the Delivery Manager, Product Owner, UX, QE, and developers from other platforms/channels to deliver quality working software.
  • Refine requirements into small batches of work and coordinate work within the team.

What deliverables you will take ownership of:
  • Work with the team on creating reusable components to decrease time to market and help implement architecture patterns.
  • Develop features that empower our customers, as they book and manage their stays while utilizing features like digital keys and digital room controls on our Mobile App.

WHY YOU'LL BE A GREAT FIT

You have these minimum qualifications:

  • Five (5) years of professional work experience in Technology or related field.
  • Four (4) years of experience with full cycle software development. Experience should include all of the following - design, coding, testing,release, and maintenance.
  • Three (3) years of experience with Android application engineering with Kotlin.
  • Two (2) years of Jetpack Compose.
  • Experience/ working knowledge with architectural design patterns (UDF, MVVM, etc), coroutines and flows.
  • Proven track record of leading development efforts.
  • Experience in an environment with daily commits, weekly store releases and real-time collaboration.
  • Familiarity with version control systems such as Git.
  • This is a hybrid role and will require visits to the Dallas office.
  • Travel up to 10%.

It would be useful if you have:

  • Bachelor's Degree, or Associate's Degree plus 6+ years of Technology related experience, or High School Degree/GED plus 12+ years of Technology related experience.
  • Seven (7) + years of professional work experience in Technology or related field.
  • Knowledge of CI/CD tools (Gradle, GitLab.)
  • Knowledge of Redux.
  • Experience working closely with iOS developers and reviewing their code.
  • Experience building apps in Travel/Leisure domains.
