Environmental Permitting and Planning Team Lead

Kleinfelder is seeking an experienced Environmental Permitting and Planning (EP&P) Team Lead to join our Team in the Salt Lake City Area. Ideally this person will have experience in Environmental Impact Assessment and Environmental Planning and Permitting in Power/Energy, Transportation, Mining, and/or Construction Markets.

This position provides a great career-growth opportunity for an organized and energetic leader who can effectively collaborate with operational and business development leadership in our Central Division to execute our shared growth strategy.

The successful candidate will grow the EP&P Practice supporting a variety of environmental permitting, natural resources planning, environmental compliance, wetland and other natural resources surveys, and environmental assessment/impact studies for a variety of projects and clients. The position requires team leadership, project management, business development, and client engagement in support of our clients in Utah and nationwide.

The ideal candidate should demonstrate:

  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Strong project management, team leadership and technical writing/communications skills
  • Entrepreneurial and collaborative spirit
  • Solid business acumen
  • Ability to effectively engage directly with clients and agencies
  • Robust regulatory and agency expertise in Utah, Idaho, Wyoming, Colorado, Texas, Arizona (BLM, USFS, USACE, and state agencies)
  • Ability to effectively drive, deliver and review proposals and reports
  • Existing client relationships

All candidates require:
  • BS in Environmental, Biological, Ecological Science, Environmental Policy or related field; Masters in a relevant subject area a plus,
  • 12+ years of relevant environmental consulting and/or agency employment experience in the region,
  • Prior experience working and coordinating with regulatory agencies
