Shakespeare - Director, Information Technology - Columbia (Information Technology)



Director, IT (Information Technology) - Columbia, SC

Reporting to the General Manager / President, the Director of IT will be responsible for overseeing and advancing the technology infrastructure for the company. This includes managing network systems, cybersecurity, enterprise applications, and user support across both corporate and manufacturing environments. This individual will be a key strategic and operational leader, balancing long-term planning with hands-on execution in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Evaluate and integrate new technologies to drive efficiency and security.
  • Develop and implement an IT roadmap aligned with the company's growth objectives.
  • Ensure IT systems and infrastructure are reliable, secure, and scalable.

Infrastructure and Systems

  • Manage the IT infrastructure across all sites, including servers, networks, and cloud platforms.
  • Oversee implementation and management of ERP/MRP systems.
  • Maintain disaster recovery and business continuity plans.

Cybersecurity

  • Establish and enforce cybersecurity protocols.
  • Conduct regular system audits and risk assessments.
  • Provide training on security awareness and best practices.

Team and Vendor Management

  • Lead and mentor internal IT staff.
  • Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers.
  • Oversee procurement and lifecycle management of IT assets.

Support and User Enablement

  • Ensure high-quality IT support for all employees across shifts and locations.
  • Standardize and document IT procedures and best practices.
  • Foster a customer-focused approach to internal IT services.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 7+ years of progressive IT experience, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP/MRP systems implementation and support.
  • Strong background in network architecture, cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure), and cybersecurity.
  • Excellent project management and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience in a startup or high-growth company is highly desirable.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with manufacturing automation systems.
  • Experience with compliance frameworks such as SOC 2 or ISO 27001.
  • Demonstrated ability to scale IT systems in rapidly growing organizations.
