Senior Financial Analyst (Finance)



TransCore (TRN), a subsidiary of ST Engineering, is seeking a full-time Senior Financial Analyst to join our Corporate Finance Team.

Summary - The Senior Financial Analyst reports to the VP of Finance and supports the company's senior and executive leadership by providing value-added financial analysis and setting accurate forecasts to help ensure the company successfully achieves targeted outcomes. The focus of this position will be on the New Jersey Back Office Software Development project and operations within the Back Office Segment (BOS). This is a highly visible position and will have a key role in the financial success of the company.

This position will be based in one of these locations - Nashville (TN), Union (NJ) or New York City (NYC) depending on where the selected candidate resides.

Although this is a hybrid (onsite/remote) work arrangement, the selected candidate will be expected to align with the team's in-office schedule, which is up to four days per week, with a strong preference for five days per week whenever possible.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Manage creation, distribution, and completion of monthly/quarterly/annual reporting packages.
  • Provide detailed analysis and commentary on consolidated company results for presentation to Executive Management and the Parent company.
  • Analyze financial and operational results to gain a deeper understanding of the BOS and the specific project's performance.
  • Work with BOS leadership to track project performance, build quarterly forecasts, annual budgets and ad-hoc analyses.
  • Communicate reasons behind Project and Segment performance against forecast while providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Utilize business intelligence (BI) tools to consolidate data from multiple sources, delivering meaningful insights into business performance to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Serve as Project Controller for the Back Office Segment, managing monthly accruals, labor distribution, and operational dashboarding.
  • Assist in building and creating Power BI dashboarding, linking multiple data sources to analyze financial and operational performance.
  • Occasional travel (up to 25%) may be required for business needs.

Qualifications and experience
  • College degree in Professional Accountancy, Finance, Business Administration or equivalent required. CPA/MBA a plus, but not required.
  • 10 years of relevant experience in financial analysis, project accounting, or project controls.
  • Excellent communication skills - across all internal audiences (leaders, managers, others) - with an ability to clearly articulate key and summary drivers of complex analysis/data sets.
  • Strong analytical skills to deliver the highest level of accuracy and insight in all areas.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask to meet demanding deadlines.
  • Ability to identify opportunities and create solutions to solve problems efficiently and effectively.
  • Able and willing to travel for business.

Technical Qualifications
  • Excellent Excel skills.
  • Advanced computer software skills, including writing macros in Excel, other accounting packages, IBM Planning Analytics (TM1/COGNOS), Tableau, Power BI etc.
  • Knowledge of relational databases or MS Access is also a plus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time. Requires frequent use of keyboard and mouse. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Salary Range: $85,000 - 120,000 annually, based on qualifications and experience. Apply
